Huddle Up: Aiyuk and the 49ers have been at odds for over a year, and even if they can't find a trade partner for Aiyuk, it seems unlikely that he will ever suit up for San Francisco again. If the 49ers opt to simply cut Aiyuk, he will be worth stashing for when he finds a new home. After all, he topped 1,300 receiving yards in 2023.

Huddle Up: Coming off a year when he led all players in touches, it is not a surprise that the 49ers are doing everything they can to keep McCaffrey as fresh as possible. While there may be some regression after such a heavy workload, McCaffrey's every-down ability gives him top-five upside at the running back position.

Huddle Up: McCaffrey handled a league-high 413 touches this past season, and running backs that handle such a heavy workload typically don't find the same success the following season. He is one of the most productive backs in the league when healthy, but the injury potential is something to consider when selecting McCaffrey in 2026 drafts. Still, he's a first-round selection in fantasy drafts with how productive he is and how much he means to the 49ers' offense.

Huddle Up: It's almost 100 percent certain Aiyuk won't be a member of the 49ers, but reporting would force their hand, as they'd owe money to a player they do not want. The team added veteran star Mike Evans, and he'll join Ricky Pearsall and draft pick De'Zhaun Stribling, so there wouldn't be a big role for him even if attitudes miraculously changed.

Huddle Up: Stribling is expected to compete for the No. 3 receiver job during training camp, so fantasy players can keep an eye on his situation. He can be a late round pick in some fantasy leagues but is unlikely to be a starting option most weeks.

Huddle Up: Kirk had an 84-1,108-8 breakout in 2022 and has fallen all the way to 28-239-1 last season with the Houston Texans. In this offense, he's worth the shot as a WR5. Mike Evans and Ricky Pearsall have dealt with injuries, and Kirk could slide up the depth chart to cover.

Huddle Up: Stribling was an early-second-round pick for the 49ers and should be involved out of the gate for the 49ers. However, with Mike Evans, Christian Kirk and Ricky Pearsall all entrenched as the likely starters for San Francisco, Stribling's initial path to playing time may be sporadic. He's worth a late-round pick in fantasy football to see if he can get on the field right away for the 49ers.

Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor Kittle's situation this offseason and during training camp to see if he will have a chance to play in the opener. He is a weekly starting option when healthy, but players will need other options ready if he misses the first few games.

Huddle Up: Christian McCaffrey was able to stay healthy in 2025 but has dealt with injuries in the past, so Black will have some fantasy value during his rookie season. He will likely see a limited workload if McCaffrey is healthy but can still be a late round pick in some leagues.

Huddle Up: James will likely have to compete with rookie Kaelon Black for touches behind McCaffrey, but if James secures the backup role, he will become a must-own handcuff. McCaffrey handled a huge workload this past season, and even if he stays healthy, the 49ers will likely try to reduce McCaffrey's touches a bit in 2026.

Huddle Up: The Niners need a reliable option to help ease the burden on Christian McCaffrey, and Black and Jordan James should be in the mix to secure the No. 2 role. If Black emerges as the primary backup option, he will become a must-own handcuff. Even if he opens as the No. 3 back, he will be worth stashing in dynasty formats.

Huddle Up: Stribling came off the board earlier than many experts predicted, but the rookie will have some upside if he can earn early playing time in Shanahan's offense. Helping out in the running game is a great way to carve out a role, and Stribling will be a name worth monitoring during training camp. For now, he is more of an asset in dynasty formats.

Huddle Up: Aiyuk missed the 2025 season recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, and his exit has been rumored for a while since he landed on the reserve/left squad list in December. With Mike Evans coming in, joining Ricky Pearsall, and the team adding De'Zhaun Stribling in the draft, there is no room on the roster for the disgruntled receiver. He could resurface as a fantasy option if he lands in the right situation. Stay tuned.

The Commanders do not have a lot of experience behind Terry McLaurin, so Aiyuk would likely have a big role if he joined the team. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him spell Christian McCaffrey on occasion, and given McCaffrey's heavy usage last season, it is certainly possible that he misses time. Depending on how he looks in training camp, Black could be quality handcuff.

Huddle Up: Stribling could see some playing time as a slot receiver during his rookie season but may be behind several receivers on the depth chart. Fantasy players can keep an eye on his status during training camp, but he is unlikely to be a starting fantasy option in 2026.

Huddle Up: Aiyuk is unlikely to remain with the 49ers, so fantasy players can monitor his situation during the offseason to see if he joins a new team. He is a reliable receiver when healthy and can be a possible No. 3 or No. 4 receiver in 2026.

Huddle Up: Purdy played just nine games last season and threw 20 touchdown passes, but had the worst interception rate of his career (3.5%) in 2025. He's a rock-solid fantasy quarterback outside of the top seven or eight quarterbacks with rushing upside. Purdy will have to work with a different cast of receivers than he's been used to, with Ricky Pearsall, Mike Evans, and Christian Kirk, plus George Kittle, who may not be ready in Week 1 with his Achilles tendon tear in January. Still, Purdy is very much a solid floor play each week with plenty of upside that you can target in the later rounds if you don't want to spend up at the position in fantasy drafts.

Huddle Up: The 49ers will likely be moving on from Aiyuk at some point this offseason, but he is still on the roster at this point. He should have a solid role wherever he plays in 2026 and can be a No. 3 receiver in a majority of leagues if healthy.

Huddle Up: Aiyuk was placed on the Reserve/Left Squad list during the season and appears unlikely to play for the 49ers again. There is a chance that the 49ers will be able to trade him, but he will probably be released at some point if there is no deal. He should have a solid role with a team in 2026 and could be a possible No. 4 receiver depending on his situation.

Huddle Up: That's great news, but don't be surprised to see Kittle treated with kid gloves early. It's a risky proposition to draft Kittle in fantasy leagues in 2026, and if you do, make sure to have at least one high-profile alternative on hand just in case Kittle has a setback, or he gets off to a slow start. Once he is up to speed, if you have two sure-fire starters at a spot without a lot of depth, you'll be in position to make a trade to bolster another area.

Huddle Up: Taylor last logged snaps for the 49ers in 2024, as he was placed on injured reserve during training camp in 2025. As merely bench depth at running back, Taylor is not fantasy relevant.

Huddle Up: Kirk will likely be a slot receiver for the 49ers and has a chance to see a decent amount of targets in the passing game. He could be a possible late round pick in deeper leagues but will not be a weekly starting option because of the other pass catchers the 49ers have on the roster.

Huddle Up: Aiyuk is still expected to be released if San Francisco is unable to move him, and he has been linked to the Washington Commanders. Aiyuk is a bit of an unknown after losing the better part of two years to injury, but he will be worth a look as a WR4 in the hopes that he can recapture his 2023 form.

Huddle Up: Aiyuk will be a WR4 target with WR3 potential after a lost 2025 season.

Huddle Up: Evans snapped an 11-season streak with at least 1,000 receiving yards in 2025 due to injuries that limited him to just eight games. A model of consistency throughout his long career, Evans is expected to sign with the San Francisco 49ers as he enters his age-33 season in 2026. He'll be a featured target in that 49ers offense and should be a low-end fantasy WR2 who posts a handful of WR1 weeks throughout the season.

Huddle Up: While the Monken factor plays a role, Evans is also 32 years old, and he expressed an interest to go to a Super Bowl contender. If that's the case, then the Browns are likely out of the race before it has even starter, as this team isn't close to being a contender. And, if familiarity is a factor, Evans wouldn't be expected to leave Tampa in the first place. Wherever Evans lands, he is still likely to be a WR3 for fantasy purposes in 2026, but be sure to have depth on hand, as Father Time is catching up to him.

Huddle Up: Aiyuk didn't play at all in 2025 while recovering from a torn ACL and MCL, but he topped 1,300 yards in 2023. It remains to be seen if he can ever approach that level of performance again, but if he is fully healthy, he would have some legitimate upside as a weapon for Jayden Daniels.
