San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy has been the best quarterback in each of the last three seasons in completion rate on passes of 10 or more yards downfield, according to Sharp Football Analysis' Warren Sharp.
Huddle Up: Purdy played just nine games last season and threw 20 touchdown passes, but had the worst interception rate of his career (3.5%) in 2025. He's a rock-solid fantasy quarterback outside of the top seven or eight quarterbacks with rushing upside. Purdy will have to work with a different cast of receivers than he's been used to, with Ricky Pearsall, Mike Evans, and Christian Kirk, plus George Kittle, who may not be ready in Week 1 with his Achilles tendon tear in January. Still, Purdy is very much a solid floor play each week with plenty of upside that you can target in the later rounds if you don't want to spend up at the position in fantasy drafts.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk's future with the team is uncertain at this point, but owner Jed York is not ruling out the possibility of Aiyuk playing for the 49ers in 2026.
Huddle Up: The 49ers will likely be moving on from Aiyuk at some point this offseason, but he is still on the roster at this point. He should have a solid role wherever he plays in 2026 and can be a No. 3 receiver in a majority of leagues if healthy.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk is still on the roster, and the team does not have a timetable for a resolution to his situation, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk was placed on the Reserve/Left Squad list during the season and appears unlikely to play for the 49ers again. There is a chance that the 49ers will be able to trade him, but he will probably be released at some point if there is no deal. He should have a solid role with a team in 2026 and could be a possible No. 4 receiver depending on his situation.

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (Achilles) is doing very good in his rehab from a torn Achilles tendon, general manager John Lynch said Sunday, March 29, ahead of the NFL owners meetings. "He's doing very good with his Achilles," Lynch said. "We're hopeful for Week 1. Some management during camp. He's progressing at a good rate."
Huddle Up: That's great news, but don't be surprised to see Kittle treated with kid gloves early. It's a risky proposition to draft Kittle in fantasy leagues in 2026, and if you do, make sure to have at least one high-profile alternative on hand just in case Kittle has a setback, or he gets off to a slow start. Once he is up to speed, if you have two sure-fire starters at a spot without a lot of depth, you'll be in position to make a trade to bolster another area.

Free-agent RB Brian Robinson Jr. (49ers) officially signed with the Atlanta Falcons Thursday, March 26.
Huddle Up: With Tyler Allgeier now in Arizona, Robinson will presumably become the primary backup for Bijan Robinson. Whether or not he turns out to be as much of a touchdown vulture as Allgeier remains to be seen, but regardless, he should be a priority handcuff.

Free-agent RB Patrick Taylor (49ers) has reportedly agreed to terms with the San Francisco 49ers on a one-year contract, according to a source on Tuesday, March 24. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Taylor last logged snaps for the 49ers in 2024, as he was placed on injured reserve during training camp in 2025. As merely bench depth at running back, Taylor is not fantasy relevant.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk is still a candidate to be traded instead of released, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "I don't think this is happening any time soon, despite the report, and I think that they'll be holding on to him for a little while to see if there's any trade value at all," Schefter said.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk is still expected to be released if San Francisco is unable to move him, and he has been linked to the Washington Commanders. Aiyuk is a bit of an unknown after losing the better part of two years to injury, but he will be worth a look as a WR4 in the hopes that he can recapture his 2023 form.

Free-agent WR Kendrick Bourne (49ers) officially signed with the Arizona Cardinals Thursday, March 12. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Bourne will likely be the No. 3 receiver behind Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, which could hurt his fantasy value. He may be a few targets each game but may not be more than a late-round pick in some deeper leagues.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk is expected to be released with a post-June 1 designation Wednesday, March 11. His likely landing spot is with the Washington Commanders.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk will be a WR4 target with WR3 potential after a lost 2025 season.

Impending free-agent WR Kendrick Bourne (49ers) agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals Monday, March 9, worth $11.47 million. The deal can be worth as much as $16.47 million with incentives and bonuses.
Huddle Up: Bourne will likely be the No. 3 receiver for the Cardinals behind Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson. He may see a few targets each game but will probably only be a late round pick in some fantasy drafts because of the other pass catchers the Cardinals have on the roster.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk could be a target for the Washington Commanders if he is released, according to John Keim of ESPN.com.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk didn't play at all in 2025 while recovering from a torn ACL and MCL, but he topped 1,300 yards in 2023. It remains to be seen if he can ever approach that level of performance again, but if he is fully healthy, he would have some legitimate upside as a weapon for Jayden Daniels.

San Francisco WR Brandon Aiyuk's status with the team will not be determined until after the new league year.
Huddle Up: The 27-year-old Aiyuk is expected to be traded or released to get a new beginning with another team. Aiyuk had 294 receptions and 25 touchdowns over five seasons with the 49ers, including back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in '22 and '23. He missed all of last season after recovering from a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee suffered in an October 2024 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The new league year will be coming up in March.

San Francisco 49ers TE Jake Tonges is a restricted free agent, and he could draw interest from teams depending on the tender he receives from the organization.
Huddle Up: It's hard to believe that the Niners would value Tonges rather highly, as he did a great job filling in for Kittle when he missed time in 2025. Now, Kittle is coming back from a major Achilles injury, and he is 33 years old. Tonges posted 34 receptions, 293 yards and five touchdowns, and he emerged as a low-end TE1 for a handful of games when he filled in. This is a player to watch closely, as he could start out as a fantasy option filling in for Kittle in San Francisco, or he might be signed as a starter elsewhere. Either way, he is getting paid, and likely to see a big bump in playing time in 2026.

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (Achilles) could reasonably return by Week 5 from his torn Achilles tendon, barring any setbacks. "George will attack it in a great way," general manager John Lynch said last week. "We're very hopeful to have him back. I remember when I first started playing, you had an Achilles, and everybody's like, 'Oh man, that's tough. You're never the same.' That's not the case anymore."
Huddle Up: Kittle's replacement, Jake Tonges, is a restricted free agent, so it will be interesting to see how the 49ers handle the tight ends' room heading into the offseason and training camp. Kittle will be a risky fantasy option on draft day, likely sinking to the middle rounds. If he can return to his usual self, he'll obviously be a TE1 in all fantasy leagues, but make sure to have plenty of depth on hand.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk could be a cut candidate this offseason by the team, in the opinion of NFL.com's Matt Okada.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk did not play a single snap for the 49ers in 2025 and played just seven games in 2024 as he was recovering from a significant knee injury. Increased tensions between Aiyuk and the 49ers also contributed to his lengthy absence. When Aiyuk has played, he's been very productive, with two straight 1,000-yard seasons in 2022 and 2023. Whether Aiyuk can retain that form in 2026 is another question, as he'll likely play his next snap in a new uniform. A true wild card for fantasy football, Aiyuk is a wait-and-see fantasy asset right now. Once Aiyuk latches on to another NFL team, he'll be a solid dart-throw in the late rounds of drafts with the hope that he recaptures the fantasy value from a few seasons ago.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy converted an NFL-record 58% of his passes on third and fourth down into first downs in 2025.
Huddle Up: Purdy dealt with his own injuries and injuries to several offensive weapons, but he still managed to throw 20 touchdowns in nine games, tossing three-plus touchdowns four times. If Purdy and company can enjoy a healthier 2026 campaign, he should be in the QB1 mix.

San Francisco 49ers QB Mac Jones is expected to receive trade interest from multiple teams this offseason, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Huddle Up: There have been reports that the 49ers are not interested in trading Jones, but fantasy players should monitor the situation during the offseason. He played well when he started this season but will not have much fantasy value next season if he remains with the 49ers.

San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey was named the 2025 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award. He led the 49ers in both rushing and receiving yardage in 2025, totaling over 2,000 scrimmage yards after playing just four games in 2024.
Huddle Up: It was a wild season for CMC, who managed to stay mostly healthy while others around him fell like flies. He left the NFL with 413 total touches, and that's a bit of a red flag for fantasy managers heading into 2026. He has had a propensity for injury, and after such a heavy workload, the injury potential is likely for next season. Buyer beware when we get closer to draft time.

San Francisco 49ers QB Mac Jones is a player that the 49ers would prefer not to trade this offseason, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Jones played well when Brock Purdy was injured this season, so Jones will probably receive trade interest from other teams during the offseason. Fantasy players can monitor the situation because Jones can be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if the 49ers agree to trade him.

San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey eclipsed 2,000 yards from scrimmage for the third time in his career in 2025, and in the seasons after his previous two 2,000-yard campaigns, he played in a combined seven games. "You've got to be ready to play in the games as much as possible," McCaffrey said. "I'll do whatever it takes for this team."
Huddle Up: McCaffrey handled a league-high 413 touches this season, and running backs that handle such a heavy workload don't always find the same success the following year. He is one of the most productive backs in league when healthy, but the injury potential is something to consider when selecting McCaffrey in 2026 drafts.

San Francisco 49ers QB Mac Jones said he believes he has shown that he can be a starter in the NFL but is fine with remaining with the 49ers next season.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players can monitor the situation because there is a chance that Jones becomes a trade target during the offseason. He posted solid numbers during his playing time this season but would be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts for a team in 2026.

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (Achilles) said be believes he will return to the lineup before November and hopes to be able play closer to the start of the 2026 regular season.
Huddle Up: Kittle suffered the injury during the playoffs, so there is a good chance that he will miss some regular season games in 2026. Fantasy players should monitor the situation during training camp to have a better idea of his timetable. He is a No. 1 fantasy tight end when healthy, but players may need a short-term replacement at the position until Kittle returns.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) said he will not need surgery on the toe injury he dealt with during the season.
Huddle Up: Purdy was limited to nine games this season because of injury but should be able to participate in all of the workouts this offseason. He posted good numbers when he was able to play in 2025 and will likely be a No. 1 quarterback in leagues next season.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy had four wins in seven games against playoff teams in 2025, posting a 79.6 passer rating with 18.9 points per game (PPG) on offense, while going 4-0 with a 123.9 passer rating and 38.0 PPG against non-playoff teams.
Huddle Up: Purdy struggled badly against the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Divisional Round playoff game on Saturday, but the struggles of the offense weren't all his fault. Remember, George Kittle tore his Achilles in Philadelphia last week, and the offensive line struggled to blow open holes, leading to mediocre rushing performances from Christian McCaffrey and the run game for most of the season.

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (stinger) returned to the Divisional Round game against the Seattle Seahawks after exiting with a stinger.
Huddle Up: It looks like McCaffrey will try to play through the injury, but it remains to be seen if it will impact his effectiveness. Regardless, it looks like McCaffrey avoided any type of long-term injury.

San Francisco 49ers TE Jake Tonges (foot) is questionable to return to the Divisional Round game against the Seattle Seahawks after exiting with a foot injury. Tonges had five catches for 59 yards prior to exiting.
Huddle Up: Already missing George Kittle, the 49ers will be thin at the tight end position if Tonges is unable to return. Luke Farrell would likely become the primary option in place of Tonges.

San Francisco 49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) is officially active for the Divisional Round playoff game.
Huddle Up: Pearsall has been a solid contributor in the passing game when healthy, so he should see a handful of targets against the Seattle Seahawks. He can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey faces the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional Round, and McCaffrey gained 92 rushing yards on 30 carries in two meetings with Seattle in the regular season.
Huddle Up: Granted, McCaffrey also caught 15 passes for 107 yards in the two meetings, but he was held out of the end zone and couldn't find any running room. His heavy workload is going to result in a solid yardage total and plenty of receptions, but fantasy owners may want to think twice before building lineups around McCaffrey in playoff contests.

San Francisco 49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Jan. 15, and is listed as questionable for the Divisional Round playoff game.
Huddle Up: Pearsall was a limited participant in all three practices this week and should have a good chance to be active for the game. He will see a handful of targets if active and can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.
