Indianapolis Colts TE Tyler Warren was "targeted" by the team for months leading up to the draft, according to ESPN's Stephen Holder, who says that with his skills as both a blocker and pass catcher, Warren will "rarely leave the field" as a rookie.
Huddle Up: The days of rookie tight ends failing to make an impact are over as we've seen in recent years with Kyle Pitts (68-1,026-1), Sam LaPorta (86-889-10), and Brock Bowers (112-1,194-5) all delivering TE1 value right out of the gate. Warren has a chance to join them after the Colts finished last in the NFL in tight end receptions a year ago. His blocking should help open things up for Jonathan Taylor, and his hands could make him a nice intermediate target for Anthony Richardson (or even Daniel Jones). There's TE1 potential here, though he might be better viewed as a TE2 entering the season.

Huddle Up: Warren was a do-it-all weapon for Penn State last year, and if the Colts take advantage of his versatility, he should make an immediate impact as a rookie. Consider him a TE2 with TE1 potential.
