The Seattle Seahawks signed free-agent SS Atari Bigby (Packers) to an undisclosed deal Tuesday, Aug. 16.

Huddle Up: Bigby will back up Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor as he can play free or strong safety. He was injured last year (ankle surgery) but can be quite a ball-hawk when healthy. Bigby should have made the Pro Bowl in 2007.

Green Bay Packers restricted free-agent SS Atari Bigby has signed his tender offer and will report to training camp on time, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Huddle Up: Bigby probably realized he could lose his job to rookie safety Morgan Burnett (Georgia Tech), who was drafted in the third round. Burnett turned heads in OTA's and mini-camps, getting a lot of crucial first-team reps while Bigby was out.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Green Bay Packers SS Atari Bigby (hamstring) did not practice Friday, Sept. 19, and is out Week 3.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: WIth Bigby out and CB Charles Woodson not at 100 percent due to a lingering toe problem, Tony Romo and the Dallas receivers could be poised for an even bigger day than they enjoyed Week 2 against Philadelphia.

ESPNews reports Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said SS Atari Bigby (hamstring) suffered a hamstring strain Week 2 and his status for Week 3 is unknown. The team will have a better idea of Bigby's availability Friday, Sept. 19.

Huddle Up: If Bigby is out, that will seriously hinder the Green Bay secondary against a talented group of Cowboy receivers. Patrick Crayton would be worth serious starting consideration already, and even more so if Bigby can't go.

According to sources, Green Bay S Atari Bigby signed a new 1-year contract to play for the Packers in 2008. Terms of the deal are not currently known.

Huddle Up: Bigby burst onto the scene last season when he beat out Marquand Manuel in training camp for the starting position in the Packers secondary. Bigby is a hard hitter and could develop into one of the top safeties in the NFC for 2008.
