Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson said he expects to test the free-agent market next year after the team declined the former first-rounder's fifth-year contract option. 'I think I'm hitting free agency next year. I won't be the first, won't be the last,' Doctson said. 'It's nothing to be sad about, be mad about. Someone wants you there, so it's all love.' The 26-year-old will play out the 2019 season on a cap hit just under $3.2 million.
Huddle Up: Doctson has 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns off of 81 career receptions. The Redskins took two wide receivers in the 2019 NFL Draft and veteran Paul Richardson also returns. The receiving corps is expected to work with either veteran QB Case Keenum or rookie Dwayne Haskins this season, with either likely limiting the fantasy returns for their pass catchers. Doctson could return to relevance on a new, better team in 2020.

Huddle Up: Doctson is coming off a decent 2018 season but has not posted more than 550 yards in any of his three seasons. He likely will be a starting receiver for the Redskins this upcoming season and could be a late-round option in some fantasy leagues.

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson posted two grabs for 33 yards in Week 17 against the Philadelphia Eagles, setting a new career high with 532 yards in 2018.
Huddle Up: Doctson failed to come close to the six touchdowns he posted last season, but he did well considering the Redskins ran through Alex Smith, Colt McCoy, Mark Sanchez and Josh Johnson at the quarterback position this season. His future is still pretty bright.

Washington Redskins Josh Doctson (illness, back) is considered questionable for Week 17, head coach Jay Gruden said Friday, Dec. 28.

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson (back) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 27.
Huddle Up: Doctson has been playing through a lower-back injury, catching 3-of-6 targets for 30 yards in Week 16 at Tennessee, but likely will need to get back on the practice field Friday before anyone will feel good about him playing in Sunday's finale.

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson caught three of his six targets for 30 yards in Week 16 versus the Tennessee Titans.
Huddle Up: Doctson was drafted in the first round in 2016 with the idea he could use his size and athleticism to stretch the field. Unfortunately, the Redskins have rarely ever tried to utilize him in that way - first because he struggled to stay healthy and more recently because Washington hasn't employed a quarterback able or willing to let him track down 50-50 balls. Doctson is safe to leave on the waiver wire for the foreseeable future.

Huddle Up: An intriguing development as Doctson is not known to be dealing with any kind of injury and this being Washington's final major practice of the week leading into its game Saturday in Tennessee. A post-practice update from the team is sure to be forthcoming.

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson (concussion) will be traveling with the team for their Week 15 game. He is listed as questionable for the game.
Huddle Up: Doctson may he a game-time decision, but it is a good sign that he is traveling with the team. He is coming off a solid Week 14 performance and could be a flex option in some leagues if he is cleared.

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson (concussion) on Friday, Dec. 14, was listed as questionable for Week 15.
Huddle Up: Doctson caught four of his five targets for 84 yards in the Week 14 loss to the Giants, but still must take his final steps in clearing the concussion protocol over the next day. Even if he does, Doctson is only a deep-league flex option in a tough matchup against the Jaguars.
