New England Patriots TE Jonnu Smith caught four passes for 28 yards against the New York Jets in Week 2. He was targeted five times during the game.
Huddle Up: Smith has caught nine of his 10 targets this season but has only 70 yards over the first two games. He should post better numbers once Mac Jones is more comfortable but is a risky option for fantasy players next week.

New England Patriots TE Jonnu Smith (hip) is officially active for the Week 2 game.
Huddle Up: Smith should have an important role in the passing game this week and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

New England Patriots TE Jonnu Smith (hip) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 17, and is listed as questionable for Week 2.
Huddle Up: Smith was able to do some things over the last two practices and probably will be able to play. He should have some success against the New York Jets and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end.

New England Patriots TE Jonnu Smith (hip) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 16.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players can monitor the situation to see if Smith is in any danger of missing the Week 2 game. He caught all five of his targets in Week 1 and finished with 42 yards. He probably will see a handful of targets against the New York Jets and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues.

New England Patriots TE Jonnu Smith caught five passes for 42 yards against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Sept. 12. Smith also ran the ball once for six yards.
Huddle Up: Smith outpaced fellow newcomer Hunter Henry, but that could easily fluctuate throughout the season as long as both of them are healthy. As with Henry, Smith has some low-end TE1 potential, but he'd be a bit of a risky play.

New England Patriots TE Jonnu Smith (ankle) suffered a sprained ankle during practice Sunday, Aug. 15, but it is not believed to be a serious injury.
Huddle Up: Smith probably will miss a few days of practice but does not appear to be in danger of missing any regular season games. He likely will be an important part in the passing game for the Patriots after receiving a lucrative contract and can be a No. 1 fantasy tight end.

New England Patriots TE Jonnu Smith (hamstring) will be ready for training camp.
Huddle Up: Smith will team with Hunter Henry as a dynamic duo, but they'll offset each other in fantasy. Peg both as low-end TE1s.

New England Patriots TE Jonnu Smith can be used in 'a gazillion different ways,' according to an NFL offensive coordinator. 'Blocking at all levels, jet sweeps, motion, and he's improved as a receiver,' the coordinator said.
Huddle Up: Smith is coming off a nine-touchdown campaign in 2020, and there might not be a better coaching staff to take advantage of his versatility than the one in New England. Even if he doesn't post huge yardage and reception totals, his ability to cause matchup problems in the red zone should keep him in the TE1 mix.

New England Patriots TE Jonnu Smith (hamstring) was present for practice Tuesday, June 15, but did not participate in any drills.
Huddle Up: Smith probably will not return to the field until training camp, so he will have multiple weeks to recover from the injury. He was one of the big-ticket signings the Patriots make this offseason and should be a big part of the passing game. He can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in fantasy leagues.

New England Patriots TE Jonnu Smith (hamstring) left practice early Monday, June 14, after suffering an apparent hamstring injury.
Huddle Up: Smith was one of the high-priced tight ends the Patriots signed this offseason, so he should have a significant role in the passing game. He posted eight touchdowns last season and should be a threat in the red zone. He can be a No. 1 tight end in most leagues.
