Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Schaub completed 39-of-52 passes for 460 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks, his third career game with at least 450 yards. He joined Ben Roethlisberger (6), Dan Marino (4), Drew Brees (3) and Peyton Manning (3) as one of five players to throw for 450 or more yards in three or more games in his career.

Huddle Up: Schaub was making his first start since Dec. 6, 2015, a span of 1,421 days ago. He was making the start for Matt Ryan (ankle). The Falcons have two weeks to get Ryan healthy with a bye, but if not Schaub could be a decent streaming option in deeper leagues for Week 10.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Schaub completed 6-of-6 passes for 65 yards and a touchdown in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Rams, finishing up for the injured QB Matt Ryan (ankle).

Huddle Up: Ryan's status for Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks is uncertain. Schaub would make the start if Ryan is unable to go, but it's not a terribly attractive matchup for the backup.

The Green Bay Packers may look to sign a veteran in free agency to play behind QB Aaron Rodgers, in the opinion of Packers Wire's Zach Kruse, who lists QBs Ryan Fitzpatrick (Buccaneers), Matt Schaub (Falcons), Robert Griffin III (Redskins), Sean Mannion (Rams) and Austin Davis (Titans) as possible fits; everyone on the list except Fitzpatrick previously played for head coach Matt LaFleur earlier in their careers.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Schaub could be of interest to the San Francisco 49ers if offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan joins the organization as their new head coach, according to multiple sources. However, it is uncertain if Schaub would be used as a starter, backup or bridge to a future quarterback.

Huddle Up: Schaub, who will turn 36 before the start of the 2017 campaign, has only started two games over the last three seasons and should not be viewed as a viable option in any fantasy format at this stage of his career, even if he does win San Francisco's starting job.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan played one snap in the preseason finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday, Sept. 1, before being replaced by QB Matt Schaub.

Huddle Up: Ryan finished fifth in passing yards last season, but Atlanta's inability to finish off drives resulted in his lowest touchdown total since his rookie season. He is a potential QB2 candidate, and he could still be on the board later in drafts.

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said he isn't naming a starting quarterback for Week 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs Friday, Dec. 18, even though QB Matt Schaub (chest) is listed as probable. QB Jimmy Clausen is another option to start against the Chiefs. Clausen took at least half of practice repetitions both Wednesday, Dec. 16, and Thursday, Dec. 17, according to offensive coordinator Marc Trestman. Harbaugh said Schaub has a chance to be 100 percent healthy by Sunday, Dec. 20. It's highly unlikely that QB Ryan Mallett will see playing time Sunday after being signed this week.

Huddle Up: Bank on Schaub starting after he was able to practice if full both Thursday and Friday but check in before kickoff to make sure.
