Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Schaub could be of interest to the San Francisco 49ers if offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan joins the organization as their new head coach, according to multiple sources. However, it is uncertain if Schaub would be used as a starter, backup or bridge to a future quarterback.
Huddle Up: Schaub, who will turn 36 before the start of the 2017 campaign, has only started two games over the last three seasons and should not be viewed as a viable option in any fantasy format at this stage of his career, even if he does win San Francisco's starting job.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan played one snap in the preseason finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday, Sept. 1, before being replaced by QB Matt Schaub.
Huddle Up: Ryan finished fifth in passing yards last season, but Atlanta's inability to finish off drives resulted in his lowest touchdown total since his rookie season. He is a potential QB2 candidate, and he could still be on the board later in drafts.

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said he isn't naming a starting quarterback for Week 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs Friday, Dec. 18, even though QB Matt Schaub (chest) is listed as probable. QB Jimmy Clausen is another option to start against the Chiefs. Clausen took at least half of practice repetitions both Wednesday, Dec. 16, and Thursday, Dec. 17, according to offensive coordinator Marc Trestman. Harbaugh said Schaub has a chance to be 100 percent healthy by Sunday, Dec. 20. It's highly unlikely that QB Ryan Mallett will see playing time Sunday after being signed this week.
Huddle Up: Bank on Schaub starting after he was able to practice if full both Thursday and Friday but check in before kickoff to make sure.

Baltimore Ravens QB Matt Schaub (chest) put in a full practice Thursday, Dec. 17, after being limited Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Huddle Up: There's one more practice day remaining this week, but it's looking like Schaub will return and play Sunday after sitting out last week's beatdown by the Seahawks. A definite upgrade over Jimmy Clausen, who threw for 274 yards and interception while failing to get Baltimore into the end zone in Week 14.

Baltimore Ravens QB Matt Schaub (chest) is not expected to play in the Week 14 game against the Seattle Seahawks because of his chest injury. QB Jimmy Clausen likely will start if Schaub is ruled out.
Huddle Up: The Seahawks' defense was an elite fantasy play before Schaub was injured but now they could decide matchups in the first round of fantasy playoffs. Buck Allen is really the only Ravens offensive player worth starting this week and even he's a risky play.

Baltimore Ravens QB Matt Schaub (chest) did not practice Friday, Dec. 11, but is listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Seattle Seahawks. If Schaub doesn't play, QB Jimmy Clausen would be the starter.
Huddle Up: We'll have to wait until game day to be sure, but a full week of missed practices for Schaub would certainly seem to add up to the first Baltimore start for Clausen. If so, it would be Clausen's second start of the season against Seattle, and the first resulted in Clausen's Bears getting blanked 26-0 in Week 3. If Seahawks' D wasn't hot enough, the heat has now been turned up a notch or three.

Baltimore Ravens QB Matt Schaub (shoulder, knee) and TE Crockett Gillmore (back) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.
Huddle Up: The Ravens likely will need to see some strides from Schaub on Friday, or backup Jimmy Clausen might be in line to get his second start against the Seahawks this season, playing for different teams.

Baltimore Ravens QB Matt Schaub (shoulder, knee) is out of practice with shoulder and knee injuries Wednesday, Dec. 9. QB Jimmy Clausen is taking the first-team repetitions.
Huddle Up: The veteran Schaub is said to be experiencing soreness and was kept out of the team's first workout of the week, but the general feeling is he'll be able to return to practice and play against the visiting Seahawks on Sunday.

Baltimore Ravens QB Matt Schaub (head) passed the concussion tests after the team's Week 13 game and passed them again Monday, Dec. 7, according to head coach John Harbaugh.
Huddle Up: Schaub has thrown for 540 yards and three TDs in his two starts but faces a sizable step up in competition this week in the visiting Seahawks.

Updating an earlier report, free-agent QB Matt Schaub (Raiders) signed with the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, March 31. Terms were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Baltimore was in need of a veteran backup with Tyrod Taylor departing, and Schaub fills the bill. It will certainly be cause for concern, though, if Schaub has to play any length of time, but Ravens' fans can take solace in that the durable Flacco hasn't missed a start in seven seasons.
