Updating a previous report, free-agent WR Russell Gage Jr. (Falcons) reportedly agreed to terms on a three-year contract worth $30 million - including $20 million guaranteed - with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday, March 15.
Huddle Up: The size of the contract is a bit of a surprise, although it helps to explain why the cap-strapped Atlanta Falcons did not bring him back. It is likely front-loaded to align with the likelihood that Tom Brady retires for good after this season. The contract also provides the Buccaneers some insurance should they not be able to sign Chris Godwin long-term. Gage should be viewed as a possible WR3 for fantasy purposes even when Godwin gets healthy, albeit one with less upside than Antonio Brown had in a similar role.

Free-agent WR Russell Gage Jr. (Falcons) reportedly agreed to terms on an undisclosed contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday, March 15.
Huddle Up: With Calvin Ridley suspended for at least one season, Gage appeared to be in line for No. 1 receiver duties with the Atlanta Falcons. Instead, he'll stay inside the NFC South and serve as Mike Evans' sidekick for however long Chris Godwin (ACL) is sidelined. Gage should be a viable fantasy starter until Godwin is up to speed, and there's a very good chance he will be useful after that - much like Antonio Brown was before his unceremonious exit.

Atlanta Falcons impending free-agent WR Russell Gage Jr. said he is open to re-signing with the Falcons during the offseason.
Huddle Up: Gage was a solid contributor in the passing game this season with 770 yards and four touchdowns. He should see a decent amount of touches no matter where he plays next season but probably will not be a weekly starting option in fantasy leagues.

Atlanta Falcons WR Russell Gage Jr. posted three grabs for 50 yards on five targets in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills.
Huddle Up: Gage did a good job in the slippery conditions due to snow and ice in Buffalo. He'll look to finish up strong in Week 18 at home against the New Orleans Saints in much nicer, controlled conditions.

Atlanta Falcons WR Russell Gage Jr. posted four receptions for 39 yards on five targets in Week 16 against the Detroit Lions, but he also lost a fumble.
Huddle Up: Gage was the second-best option for Matt Ryan, and rookie TE Kyle Pitts was the primary target. Gage did OK for those in deeper PPR leagues, but he was mostly a disappointment everywhere else, especially if you lose points for the fumble. The Falcons are back at it in Week 17 at Buffalo.

Atlanta Falcons WR Russell Gage Jr. caught eight of his 11 passes for 91 yards and a touchdown in a 31-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15.
Huddle Up: Atlanta's offense has struggled in recent weeks, but Gage has been a bright spot. He has topped 60 yards in four straight games, scoring twice and topping 90 yards twice.

Atlanta Falcons WR Russell Gage Jr. posted four receptions for 64 yards on six targets in Week 14 against the Carolina Panthers.
Huddle Up: Gage fell off from his 130-yard showing last week, but he still has four or more grabs in four straight games and at least 62 receiving yards in each of the past three. He has emerged as a useful WR4 or flex fantasy option with Calvin Ridley out of action. The Falcons travel to meet the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15.

Atlanta Falcons WR Russell Gage Jr. caught six passes for 62 yards and one touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 12. He was targeted seven times during the game.
Huddle Up: Gage has caught at least five passes in three of the last four games and picked his first touchdown in four games. He will continue to be a main option in the passing game for the Falcons and can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

Atlanta Falcons WR Russell Gage Jr. caught five passes for 49 yards in Week 11 against the New England Patriots.
Huddle Up: While a 5-49-0 line is middling production at best, it was still enough to lead the Falcons in both categories. Gage has been an inconsistent presence as the nominal No. 1 receiver with Calvin Ridley away from the team, and he can't be viewed as more than a risky flex play in that role.

Atlanta Falcons WR Russell Gage Jr. was targeted three times during the Week 10 game but finished the game with zero receptions.
Huddle Up: None of the Falcons players had much success this week, and Gage may have had the worst game among the team's skill players. He should see a decent amount of targets next week against the New England Patriots but probably only a possible flex option in deeper leagues.
