San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk is unlikely to be traded, according to David Lombardi of the San Francisco Standard.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk is coming off a knee injury, but assuming he is back in San Francisco next season, he should be a key component of the offense and a potential WR2.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk is available for trade along with WR Deebo Samuel, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network on Saturday, March 1.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk just signed a four-year, $120 million contract extension before the 2024 season, which ended prematurely due to a torn ACL. Regardless of where Aiyuk ends up, he has back-end WR2 value once he's fully healthy from the ACL recovery.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk may be available via trade based on recent comments from general manager John Lynch. "That (other teams asking about Aiyuk) typically happens with really good players. I remember two years ago having similar conversations. You get calls and you always listen to calls. Since Kyle (Shanahan) and I have been here, we've been the No. 2 cash-spending team. In the last four years, we're the fourth-highest cash-spending team. So at some point, you have to reset a little bit, or at least recalibrate. You can't just keep pressing the pedal. I think there's some good that can come out of that. We need to get younger. I think we're the oldest team in football after trying to make a run last year. I think it's good to constantly get younger," Lynch said.
Huddle Up: In addition to getting younger, the 49ers need to open up some cap space for Brock Purdy. It sounds like San Francisco is more than open to trading Deebo Samuel and may be thinking the same about Aiyuk, especially after the team drafted Ricky Pearsall in the first round in 2024 and Jauan Jennings showed he could handle a much bigger role. Aiyuk should fetch a first- or second-round pick if his knee checks out - he is recovering from a torn ACL - and will a solid fantasy WR2 investment wherever he lands if he is dealt.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (knee) could be ready for the start of the season, but his timetable is still unclear.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk could be the WR1 when he returns because it sounds very much like Deebo Samuel is going to be dealt. Aiyuk would lead a group that includes JaJuan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall and TE George Kittle. Aiyuk tore his ACL and MCL, and the team has a history of babying their stars to a degree. So he'll be a low-end WR1 that you'd rather have as a WR2 because he could be very limited in the first month or two.

Updating previous reports, San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (knee) has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament as well as a torn medial collateral ligament, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players should monitor the situation because Aiyuk may miss some time during training camp because of the serious injury. He is a starting fantasy option when healthy but may fall down draft boards next season.

Updating previous reports, San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (knee) will miss the rest of the 2024 season after suffering a season-ending injury during the Week 7 game, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall should receive bigger roles in the passing game with Aiyuk out until 2025. Jennings can become at least a flex option most weeks, while Pearsall can become a possible flex option later in the season.

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (knee) is feared to have suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, a source said Sunday, Oct. 20. He will have an MRI to determine the source and severity of the injury.
Huddle Up: If the ACL is, indeed, torn, he would be done for the season. It's a tough blow for Aiyuk, who was just starting to shake off the rust after a slow start due to a contract impasse. Deebo Samuel, who left the Week 7 game due to illness, would be the WR1 in San Francisco, while Jauan Jennings would be the WR2 when healthy. Jacob Cowing and Ricky Pearsall could also see a much larger role doing forward.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (knee) suffered a knee injury during the Week 7 game and has been ruled out.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see how long Aiyuk may be sidelined. Ricky Pearsall should see a bigger role in the passing game with both Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel injury and can be at least a flex option in leagues.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk registered two receptions (on four targets) for 37 yards in a win over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, Oct. 10.
Huddle Up: Signed to a lucrative extension back in August, putting an end to a saga that stretched on for months, Aiyuk hasn't provided much of a return on investment for either the 49ers or fantasy owners. We're now six games into the 2024 season, and the fifth-year wideout has yet to score a TD and has only topped 50 yards in a game once. As of now, he's on a 65-995-0 pace. Odds are he'll turn things around -- he's too talented to continue being such an afterthought -- but don't bet on it happening in Week 7 against KC. When they faced off in the Super Bowl, Aiyuk finished with 49 yards on three catches.
