San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk was active in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he had just one catch for six yards on two targets.
Huddle Up: Fantasy managers will have to be patient with Aiyuk, who was inactive in Week 1 due to a hamstring injury suffered during the preseason. Deebo Samuel is the go-to receiver with now, but it won't take much for Aiyuk to leapfrog Jauan Jennings, Mohamed Sanu and Trent Sherfield when he is 100 percent. Keep him reserved for now, however.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk would have 'got his spot completely back' had he not tweaked his hamstring before the third preseason game, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Per Shanahan, he planned on rotating Aiyuk in Week 1 and denied that his receiver was in the 'doghouse.'
Huddle Up: Well, Aiyuk's fantasy managers will be happy to learn this information now. While it's not always the easiest thing to do, fantasy managers counting on Aiyuk as their WR2 or WR3 should feel better about giving him another start in Week 2 against a questionable Philadelphia Eagles secondary.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk 'tailed off dramatically' near the end of the preseason and is 'still learning how to be a pro,' which led to him being benched in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk ran only 15 routes in the opener and was not targeted on any of them, according to Pro Football Focus. The hamstring that bothered Aiyuk late in the preseason may be to blame for why he "tailed off dramatically," but now it is clear why Trent Sherfield got the start and was received so much praise from team brass in August. Fantasy managers should expect Aiyuk to resurface and be productive again in fantasy soon, but he needs to be on benches for now.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) returned to practice Monday, Sept. 6 - his first practice in 10 days.
Huddle Up: Fantasy managers should be happy about this development as San Francisco did not want to rush him back. In other words, the 49ers are confident his hamstring is fully healed. Assuming Aiyuk doesn't encounter a setback before the weekend, he should be considered a strong WR2 option against the Detroit Lions in Week 1.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) is dealing with a 'slight hamstring' issue that will keep him out of the team's preseason finale Sunday, Aug. 29, head coach Kyle Shanahan said.
Huddle Up: The move seems more precautionary than anything for Aiyuk, who did play in each of the Niners' first two exhibition contests. Value him as a low-end WR2 in drafts.

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk recorded at least 70 receiving yards in seven of his 12 games in 2020, and he topped 70 yards in six of his final seven games.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk was on a pace for 80 catches and just under 1,000 yards over 16 games, and his strong finish to the year is an encouraging sign. He will have WR3 upside entering his sophomore season.
