New York Jets RB La'Mical Perine (illness) tested positive for COVID-19 Wednesday, Dec. 30, and he's out for Week 17.
Huddle Up: Frank Gore (lung) is also out, which means Ty Johnson will receive a look. He had a 22-104-1 game against the Las Vegas Raiders a few weeks ago and is worth the flex consideration against the New England Patriots.

New York Jets RB La'Mical Perine rushed nine times for 30 yards and he added one reception for 14 yards on two targets in Week 16 against the Cleveland Browns.
Huddle Up: Perine might be the heir apparent in the New York backfield depending on the future of Frank Gore. The veteran has indicated he might be done after this season. If so, Perine could have some long-term keeper value in fantasy leagues.

New York Jets RB La'Mical Perine (ankle) is expected to be a full participant during practice this week, according to head coach Adam Gase.
Huddle Up: Perine is currently on the Reserve/Injured list but has a chance to play in Week 16. He likely would have an offensive role if he activated but may not be a great fantasy option.

New York Jets RB La'Mical Perine (ankle) likely will sit out Week 15, according to head coach Adam Gase, who added Thursday, Dec. 17, that he wants to see Perine get in a full week of practice before returning from a high-ankle sprain which landed him on the Reserve/Injured list.
Huddle Up: Perine hasn't played since Week 11, and that leaves the mainly unusable fantasy combo of Frank Gore and Ty Johnson heading the Jets' backfield.

New York Jets RB La'Mical Perine (ankle) has been designated to return from the Reserve/Injured list.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Perine will be able to play in Week 15. He should receive some touches when he returns to the active lineup but can be avoided in most leagues.

New York Jets RB La'Mical Perine (ankle) was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain Monday, Nov. 23, and is expected to be sidelined for multiple games, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.
Huddle Up: Fire up Frank Gore. Just kidding, kind of. In all seriousness, Gore has consistently handled 10 to 15 touches throughout this season, even when Le'Veon Bell was around. The 37-year-old is a low-end flex consideration only because the running back position is in sad shape in fantasy. It's possible the Jets use this opportunity to see what they have in Ty Johnson.

New York Jets RB La'Mical Perine might see more touches in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers, head coach Adam Gase indicated Wednesday, Nov. 18. Gase said RB Frank Gore will still ended up getting his share of carries, however.
Huddle Up: We've seen this before with Gase, as he promised to get Perine more involved. But it isn't all his fault, as the veteran Frank Gore is hanging on tightly to what is his, running hard and making it a tough decision to go away from the veteran to get the youngster more involved. For now, Perine is only worth a roster spot as a reserve in most fantasy leagues.

New York Jets RB La'Mical Perine rushed six times for 19 yards in Week 9 against the New England Patriots and he added two receptions for 19 yards on his only two targets.
Huddle Up: Perine is being mentored by veteran and potential future Hall of Famer Frank Gore. However, as long as Gore remains healthy, it's likely he sees a majority of the backfield touches. The Jets are off in Week 10. Perine remains worth rostering only in long-term keeper formats.

New York Jets RB La'Mical Perine rushed for 27 yards on eight carries against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8. He also caught two passes for six yards during the game.
Huddle Up: Perine has been more involved in the offense over the last few weeks but did not have much success against the Chiefs. He will continue to have a solid role in the offense moving forward but may not be a starting option at this point.
