Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard (calf) will not need to undergo surgery on his injured calf this offseason, according to head coach Dave Canales.
Huddle Up: Hubbard likely will be able to participate in some of the offseason workout and likely will enter training camp as the starter after receiving recently receiving an extension. He played very well this season and can be a No. 2 running back in most fantasy leagues next season.

Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard (calf, knee) was placed on injured reserve on Saturday, Dec. 28.
Huddle Up: Hubbard's career year ends prematurely, but his future is bright after inking an extension with the Panthers. He will return to lead back duties in 2025 and rookie Jonathon Brooks isn't a threat for now as he recovers from another torn ACL. With Hubbard done for the rest of the season, Raheem Blackshear and Mike Boone are expected to split work, but neither is a suggested lineup option.

Carolina Panthers RBs Raheem Blackshear and Mike Boone are expected to split playing time during the final two games of the regular season, in the wake of RB Chuba Hubbard's (calf, knee) season-ending Grade 2 calf strain, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Huddle Up: At this point, it is unknown if Blackshear and Boone will split carries evenly or if one player will get considerably more playing time than the other. Owners should be able to find better fantasy options elsewhere and should avoid this situation altogether.

Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard (calf, knee) is expected to be placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 28, due to calf and knee injuries, according to a league source.
Huddle Up: Hubbard will miss the remainder of the season after rushing for a career-high 1,195 yards in 2024. Although the Panthers were eliminated from playoff contention a while ago, this news is still surprising given that Hubbard rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns in Week 16 and had logged a pair of limited practice sessions over the past two days. RB Raheem Blackshear is the only healthy running back currently on the Panthers' roster, with RBs Mike Boone and Emani Bailey available from the practice squad, but none of them are worth starting in any fantasy format.

Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard (knee) was a limited participant at practice Friday, Dec. 27, and is listed as questionable on the final Week 17 injury report.
Huddle Up: Hubbard logged two limited practices to end the week so he's trending in the right direction. He's a back-end RB1 option against Tampa Bay as long as he's active.

Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 26.
Huddle Up: Hubbard appears to be making progress in his recovery and should have a good chance to play this week. Fantasy players should keep an eye on the situation because Hubbard is a weekly starting option when healthy.

Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard (rest) did not take part in practice on Wednesday, Dec. 25.
Huddle Up: It's just a rest day for Hubbard, who remains a high-end RB2 play entering Week 17.

Carolina Panthers OT Taylor Moton (knee), CB Chau Smith-Wade (illness), CB Jaycee Horn (hip) and RB Chuba Hubbard (rest) did not practice on Wednesday, Dec. 23. In addition, DE Jadeveon Clowney (knee), OT Ikem Ekwonu (shoulder), C Cade Mays (illness), LB Josey Jewell (quadriceps, hamstring), WR Xavier Legette (hip, wrist), DE A'Shawn Robinson (knee), LB D.J. Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard rushed 25 times for 152 yards and two touchdowns in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals, including the game-winning score in overtime. He also added four receptions for 13 yards on five targets.
Huddle Up: Hubbard has had some tremendous efforts this season, and in Week 16 he just missed his season high in rushing yards by one. However, he did produce his most fantasy points in a single game against the Cardinals thanks to the overtime game-winning score. He'll look to build upon the momentum heading into Week 17 in Tampa.
