Indianapolis Colts LB Jabaal Sheard (knee) has not practiced in nearly seven weeks, but he has made tangible progress. He was able to do some jogging Wednesday, Sept. 11, with a helmet on, but no full pads. 'He's making good progress, very good progress,' head coach Frank Reich said. 'I'm not going to say any status, but we are encouraged.'

Cleveland Browns DE Jabaal Sheard could become a rotational player off the bench if LB Barkevious Mingo performs well enough to win one of the starting outside linebacker jobs.
Huddle Up: Makes sense that if your team not only spends its first-round pick on a guy who plays the same position as you but also addresses that same position in free agency, your playing time might be in jeopardy. Sheard could retain value as a situational pass rusher, but that would mean Mingo and Paul Kruger aren't doing their jobs.
