New York Jets WR Denzel Mims was inactive for the Week 2 game against the New England Patriots because the fifth receiver doesn't play special teams, head coach Robert Saleh explained Monday, Sept. 20. WR Jeff Smith was the starting gunner, and was up in place of Mims.
Huddle Up: Mims had a grab for 40 yards in the opener in Carolina, showing his big-play ability. However, it appears he is stuck as the fourth or fifth receiver on Saleh's depth chart, so he has no fantasy appeal at the moment.

New York Jets WR Jeff Smith was targeted 11 times during the Week 5 game against the Arizona Cardinals but finished with 23 yards on three catches.
Huddle Up: Smith was a popular target for Joe Flacco during the game, but the two did not have a good connection against the Cardinals. Smith could have a bigger role while Breshad Perriman is sidelined but can be avoided in fantasy leagues.
