Minnesota Vikings PK Blair Walsh missed three field goals and an extra point during the second preseason game Saturday, Aug. 22.
Huddle Up: It's been nothing short of a struggle this preseason for Walsh, who's misfired on two of his six field-goal attempts overall. Walsh was fantasy's fourth-ranked kicker as a rookie in 2012 but has fallen off in the two seasons since.

Minnesota Vikings PK Blair Walsh signed a four-year contract extension Sunday, July 26, worth $14 million. The deal includes $5.25 million in guaranteed money.
Huddle Up: After connecting on 92.1 percent of his field-goal attempts and scoring 141 points to finish fourth in the league as a rookie in 2012, Walsh's FG accuracy and point totals have dipped in each of the past two seasons. However, the Vikes' offense expected to take a leap forward this season, so should Walsh's numbers.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said PK Blair Walsh is expected to play Week 6 even though he left practice early Thursday, Oct. 10, after injuring his hamstring.
Huddle Up: The injury is to Walsh's plant leg, but all indications are it's not serious enough to jeopardize his participation in this weekend's game.

Minnesota Vikings PK Blair Walsh has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for December.
Huddle Up: Walsh made a league-high 35 field goals this season with only 3 misses. He was particularly deadly from long-range, hitting a single-season record 10 kicks -- with no misses -- from 50 yards or longer, and needs to be one of the first kickers drafted next season.

Minnesota Vikings PK Blair Walsh surpassed 107 points on the season with his 38-yard field goal in Week 15, which moved him past former WR Randy Moss for the 14-year-old franchise rookie record for scoring. Walsh also hit three 50-plus yard field goals in the game, which made him the first kicker in team history to kick eight field goals of at least 50 yards in a single season since former PKs Morten Anderson (1995) and Jason Hanson (2008).
Huddle Up: The 2012 rookie class has exploded onto the fantasy scene, including Walsh, who ranks sixth among all fantasy kickers with 117 points (Huddle Performance scoring). If he's somehow still available in your league, and you have any doubt about your PK, swoop up Walsh ASAP.

Minnesota Vikings PK Blair Walsh booted four field goals (20, 42, 55, 38) in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, including a game-tying 55-yard field goal to force overtime with 20 seconds left in regulation. He then kicked the game-winning field goal from 38 yards. Walsh set a team record for longest field goal in a season opener, and he became just the fourth Vikings kicker to boot one from 50 or more yards in a Week 1 game. The 55-yard field goal is tied for the second-longest in franchise history.
Huddle Up: The Vikings figured to be in rebuilding mode and opted for the big leg of Walsh over the veteran savvy of Ryan Longwell. Sunday's game winner certainly bodes well for Walsh's future. In fact, he could become a fantasy factor earlier than expected if the Minnesota offense is good enough to get in range--and the 55-yarder suggests that's a pretty healthy range--but not strong enough to finish drives with touchdowns.
