Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young is optimistic about the team's impending hiring of Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales as their new head coach because of his strong track record with quarterbacks, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Young struggled during his rookie season but will look to improve his play under Canales. Fantasy players can monitor his progress during the offseason but probably will only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in 2024.

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young went 11-for-18 for 94 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18. He also rushed for 24 yards on two carries but did lose a fumble.

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young (back) was a full participant at practice Friday, Jan. 5, and carries no injury destination for the Week 18 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Huddle Up: Young was a full participant all week and should be considered a QB2 option for the finale.

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young (back) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 4.
Huddle Up: Young has struggled during his rookie season and has only three passing touchdowns in the last eight games. He could be a possible starting option in deeper two-quarterback leagues but should be avoided in standard leagues.

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young (back) practiced in full on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
Huddle Up: It has been a disappointing rookie campaign for the No. 1 overall pick. Part of that has to do with the rookie's poor play, but he also doesn't have much help around him. The Panthers will be looking for a new head coach in 2024, which gives hope that things will get better. He shouldn't be in lineups for the regular season finale, but Young is a definite hold in dynasty formats.

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young leads the league with 45 passes thrown away this season, according to Pro Football Reference. The next closest quarterback is Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts with 32. However, Young isn't helping himself either by leading with a 20.1 percent bad throw percentage.
Huddle Up: To put that number in some perspective, only eight quarterbacks (including Young) have more than 22 throwaways. Sam Howell is the only other one besides Young and Hurts to have as many as 30. It speaks to Young seeing his receivers consistently unable to create any kind of separation and chucking the ball out of bounds. Expect Carolina to invest heavily into a high-end free-agent receiver such as Tee Higgins this spring, as no quarterback needs a player he can trust more than Young right now.

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young completed just 19-of-32 passes for 112 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 17 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while running once for two yards.
