Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski said LB Barkevious Mingo will spend the night in the hospital after suffering a bruised lung during the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 15.

Cleveland Browns OLB Barkevious Mingo, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, and the team are still at odds regarding the player's contract, according to a league source. The Browns want to include offset language in the deal, and Mingo's camp doesn't. Offset language addresses whether a player who is released before his fully guaranteed four-year contract has expired. When included, the original team must pay only the difference between what it owed the player and what he'd make from a new team. Browns rookies are scheduled to report to training camp on Friday, July 19. The Browns are reportedly confident that Mingo will show up on time, although there is uncertainty about whether, in Mingo's case, 'on time' means July 25, the first official day of training camp.
Huddle Up: This offset language business is causing some issues with 2 of the 3 defensive players selected in the draft's top 10 as third-overall pick Dion Jordan is at odds with the Dolphins as well. Keep track of the progress or lack thereof as any significant missed camp time could set the rooks back early in the season.
