Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels has recently been working out with some of his pass catchers leading up to training camp.
Huddle Up: Daniels was limited to seven games last season because of injury and is learning a new offense, so it is good that he is building chemistry with the other offensive players this offseason. He played very well during his rookie season and will be a No. 1 fantasy quarterback in all leagues if healthy.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels, and embattled San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk, apparently have had a beef on social media. Aiyuk wanted to play with his former Arizona State teammate, as he has had a very public contract dispute with his current team. It was thought he would eventually land in Washington, the only team to show any remote interest in him, but after Aiyuk insulted Daniels' mother, who is also his agent, that landing spot might no longer be in the cards. "Enjoy retirement, pal," Daniels posted on social media, tagging Aiyuk, before pulling it down later.
Huddle Up: Aiyuk has been self-destructive, and he might have talked his way out of the league. No team is likely to touch a player coming off a major injury, public contract dispute and, really, erratic behavior. Daniels will be a solid fantasy option in 2026, with or without the mercurial receiver.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels said he still has a "long way to go" to learn offensive coordinator David Blough's system.
Huddle Up: After an impressive rookie season, injuries limited Daniels to just seven games last year. There is no denying his upside, but between the injury concerns and a lack of depth at the wide receiver position, it safer to target Daniels as a low-end QB1.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels will work in a heavy play-action system under new offensive coordinator David Blough, which will, at times, feature bootlegs. The bootlegs will enable Daniels to get more in the open field. "He's one of the smartest players I've ever coached," QBs coach D.J. Williams said Saturday, June 13. "It's his football knowledge, just his natural instincts, but also how quick he can process. Obviously from the outside looking in, you see the speed, you see the arm, you see the playmaking ability, but ... from the neck up, man, that's like he is second to none."
Huddle Up: The bootleg situation is a bit concerning, as that's how Daniels suffered a sprained knee in Week 2 of the 2025 season on a scramble, while suffering a hamstring strain in Week 7 escaping pressure. He also suffered a dislocated left elbow escaping pressure in a Week 9 Sunday Night game. With a mobile quarterback, there is more potential for injury. He is a high-risk, high-reward fantasy option, capable of being a QB1 when he is on the football field. However, outside of Terry McLaurin, his current cadre of receivers is rather mediocre, and that could limit his fantasy potential to the low-end QB1 neighborhood.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels will likely be under center more often next season with offensive coordinator David Blough calling plays, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
Huddle Up: Daniels under center could help with play action passes and the possibility of Daniels having some designed runs as well. Fantasy players should keep an eye on the Commanders offense during the preseason to see how it will be different. Daniels can be a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback when healthy.

Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn expects the team to use Jayden Daniels more in 2026. He told the media, "We're going to feature every part of Jayden that makes him unique and special..."
Huddle Up: Daniels was held back in 2025 due to an ongoing list of injuries, which was capped off by a season-ending elbow injury. If the team looks to use him in a more similar fashion as they did in 2024, he can return to being a QB1 option in every league.
