Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (rib) will not practice on Wednesday, Oct. 23, head coach Dan Quinn said.
Huddle Up: It's not surprising Daniels is taking the first day of the week off, as the Commanders are going to be extremely careful with their prized quarterback. It also wouldn't be surprising to see Daniels sit out at least one week, even if he is healthy enough to play. If Daniels doesn't suit up, Marcus Mariota will take the reins once again. Mariota showed he can still be a fantasy asset last week, but he also put together his strong performance against the lowly Carolina Panthers. The Chicago Bears will be a tougher nut to crack, but Mariota is still on the QB2 radar entering Week 8, mostly thanks to his ability to run.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (ribs) is very much in doubt for Week 8 as the team plans to be extremely cautious with their franchise quarterback.
Huddle Up: The game against the Chicago Bears and Caleb Williams was flexed into an afternoon slot, but the team is going to do everything they can to avoid further complications. Daniels was initially injured on his long run and remained in the game a few plays before ultimately exiting. Marcus Mariota was fantastic in his place, going 18-for-23 for 205 yards and two scores. He would be a solid QB2 option or injury replacement.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (ribs) is considered week-to-week, head coach Dan Quinn told reporters Monday, Oct. 21.
Huddle Up: It's unclear whether Daniels will play in Week 8 so managers will want to monitor the practice reports throughout the week. He's worth starting if he's active despite the injury.

Updating previous reports, Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels' (ribs) initial X-rays revealed no fractures to his ribs, and he's still undergoing further tests.
Huddle Up: Daniels is the QB5 despite missing three-plus quarters in Week 7. He should be good to go next week, but rib injuries can potentially linger a few weeks. He may be less inclined to run.

Updating a previous report, Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (ribs) is set to undergo more tests on Monday, Oct. 21, after suffering a rib injury during the team's blowout win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 7. Initial X-rays reportedly indicated that Daniels was OK, and his mother posted on social media that Daniels was "fine."
Huddle Up: Daniels was one of the top fantasy quarterbacks over the first six games, so owners will want to keep their fingers crossed that he won't miss any time. The Commanders are set to face the Bears in Week 8, which would feature a matchup between the top two overall picks. We'll see if Daniels is able to make it.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (upper body) left the Week 7 game against the Carolina Panthers due to an apparent mid-section injury, potentially to the ribs, and he walked off to the locker room. QB Marcus Mariota is in the game.
Huddle Up: Daniels walked off to the locker room rather briskly with a few members of the training staff. He was grimacing in pain on the sidelines before heading off. We'll update when more information becomes available.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels went 24-for-35 for 269 yards and two touchdowns against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6. He also rushed for 22 yards on six yards during the game.
Huddle Up: Daniels had his best passing game of the season in terms of yards and posted his second multi-touchdown game of the season. He can continue to be a weekly No. 1 fantasy quarterback in fantasy leagues as long as he is healthy.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels is first player in NFL history to surpass 1,000 passing yards and 250 rushing yards in his first five games.
Huddle Up: Between his efficiency as a passer and upside as a runner, Daniels has wasted no time becoming a QB1 option for fantasy owners. Unless he hits a rookie wall, Daniels might not be finished setting records.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels completed 14-of-25 passes for 238 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns, while posting game highs with 11 carries and 82 yards.
Huddle Up: Daniels was a lot more inaccurate than we saw in the first four games, but he still got the job done. He has emerged as a solid QB2 in all fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams, with some upside. He is also a must-have in dynasty formats. The Commanders travel to meet the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels completed 26 of his 30 passes for 233 yards, a touchdown and an interception in a 42-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4. He also rushed eight times for 47 yards and another score.
Huddle Up: Not only does Daniels appear to be the best rookie quarterback through the first four games, but he looks like a weekly QB1 option.
