Carolina Panthers RB Mike Davis ran once for one yard and he added eight receptions for 74 yards on eight targets, taking over for the injured RB Christian McCaffrey (ankle) late in Week 2 at Tampa Bay.
Huddle Up: Davis, the former Seahawks tailback, would likely slip into a starting role if CMC's MRI on Tuesday reveals damage which could force him to the sidelines. Stay tuned.

Carolina Panthers RB Mike Davis has shown 'he can run with power and isn't one-dimensional,' according to head coach Matt Rhule. 'To me, he's a guy that you want to get in the game,' Rhule told Myles Simmons of the team's website.

Chicago Bears WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and DT Bilal Nichols (hand) did not practice Friday, Sept. 27, and have been ruled out for the Week 4 game against the Minnesota Vikings. PK Eddy Pineiro (knee) and TE Trey Burton (groin) were limited Friday and are listed as questionable as are DT Akiem Hicks (knee) and OL Kyle Long (hip) who didn't practice Friday. DB Eddie Jackson (shoulder), DE Roy Robertson-Harris (glute), OL Bobby Massie (illness) WR Cordarrelle Patterson (triceps) and RB Mike Davis (personal non-injury) practiced in full Friday and did not receive a Week 4 designation.

Chicago Bears RB Mike Davis (personal) missed a second straight practice Thursday, Sept. 26.
Huddle Up: Davis hasn't had much of a chance to prove his worth in Chicago following his signing as a free agent this offseason. He's the third most-intriguing option behind Tarik Cohen and David Montgomery and won't warrant consideration unless either of the other two were to miss time.

Chicago Bears RB Mike Davis (personal) didn't practice Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Huddle Up: Davis has just nine carries for 22 yards on the season and is no longer a fantasy consideration out of the Bears' muddy backfield situation.

Chicago Bears RB Mike Davis carried the ball five times for 19 yards and caught six passes for 17 yards in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers.
Huddle Up: The good news: Davis' 11 touches led the team. The bad news: Davis gained all of 36 yards (a measly 3.3 yards per touch). While it certainly appears Chicago's plan is to utilize all three backs, at least early on, Davis' long-term prospects rank well behind backfield mates Tarik Cohen and David Montgomery.
