Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 4, and has been ruled out for Week 5.
Huddle Up: Dameon Pierce or Cam Akers will be the starter with Mixon unavailable and can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

OT Laremy Tunsil (ankle), WR Tank Dell (chest), C Juice Scruggs (hip), S Jimmie Ward (groin) and OT Blake Fisher (illness) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (ankle) is expected to miss Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills.
Huddle Up: Cam Akers and Dare Ogunbowale will share the load again. Ogunbowale had four catches for 47 yards and a score and will be a flex candidate again. Akers rushed 13 times for 53 yards and will be a high-end flex candidate.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (ankle) and RB Dameon Pierce (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday, Oct. 3.
Huddle Up: Not great news for Houston. Mixon practiced in a limited fashion last Friday and Pierce was believed to have a chance to play in Week 4, so it is troubling to see both of them start this week with a pair of DNPs. At this point, fantasy managers may have no choice but to make plans to be without Mixon again in Week 5 and hope he is good for Week 6. Cam Akers would be an unexciting flex option yet again, while Dare Ogunbowale would likely handle most of the snaps on passing downs.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Huddle Up: Mixon is missed some time because of the injury and probably will need to practice at some point this week if wants a chance to play. Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation over the next few days because he is a starting option in fantasy leagues when healthy.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (ankle) is considered day to day, head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters Monday, Sept. 30.
Huddle Up: Mixon has missed the last two games with an ankle injury. It's unclear if he will return this week, but he's a high-end RB2 option when he does make it back.

Updating a previous report, Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 4's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Huddle Up: Mixon had been listed as questionable on the injury report after practicing just once during the week on a limited basis. With both Mixon and RB Dameon Pierce (hamstring) sidelined, RB Cam Akers should receive the bulk of the carries for Houston this afternoon and should be viewed as a viable flex option in all fantasy formats.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (ankle) is considered a game-time decision for Week 4's contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to a source. He will test out the injury during pregame warmups to determine if he will be able to play.
Huddle Up: Mixon had been listed as questionable on the injury report after logging just one limited practice session during the week. RB Dameon Pierce (hamstring) has already been ruled out, so if Mixon is also held out of action today, RB Cam Akers would be in line for a heavy workload versus the Jaguars. In this scenario, Akers would be a decent flex option with upside in most fantasy formats. Keep checking back for updates on Mixon's status.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (ankle) was limited at practice on Friday, Sept. 27, after not taking part the two days prior and is listed as questionable for Week 4.
Huddle Up: The lack of a limited practice this week suggests Mixon is on the wrong side of questionable, but clearly he's making progress. With Dameon Pierce (hamstring) ruled out, Cam Akers would be in line for a huge workload if Mixon sits. Consider him a flex option with upside in that scenario.
