Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (foot) isn't expected to play this season.
Huddle Up: Woody Marks pushed ahead of Nick Chubb over the last couple of weeks. Marks has 32 carries for 107 yards and a touchdown combined the last two weeks and will be a low-end RB2 against the Buffalo Bills Thursday night.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (ankle) could provide clarity on his status in the next month, according to general manager Nick Caserio. Caserio was non-committal on if Mixon will play this year.
Huddle Up: Several league sources doubt Mixon will play this year, and another source said the team isn't planning on him contributing at all this year. He should remain stashed on IR if possible, but it seems like Nick Chubb has some runway. He's the RB28 in non-PPR formats and will continue to be a flex candidate.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (foot) is not ready to return to the field at this point, according to head coach DeMeco Ryans. Mixon is currently on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list.
Huddle Up: Mixon has been dealing with the injury since the offseason and does not have a definite timetable for his return. Nick Chubb has been receiving a majority of the carries, but Woody Marks saw a big role in the offense in Week 4. Both Chubbs and Marks will continue to see touches in the offense and can be flex options in leagues.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (foot) will be evaluated after he sits out the first four games of the season, but general manager Nick Caserio indicated there is no guarantee that Mixon will be ready to play at that point.
Huddle Up: Mixon has been placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list, so the earliest he can return to the lineup is October. Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation because he is the starter when healthy and can be a starting fantasy option. Nick Chubb and Dameon Pierce should both see plenty of playing time while Mixon is out but may only be flex option in leagues.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (foot) will start the season on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list and will miss at least the first four games of the regular season.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players can keep an eye on Mixon's situation during September, but he will not be back in the lineup until Week 5 at the earliest. Nick Chubb and Dameon Pierce should both see a good amount of playing time while Mixon is sidelined, but both may only be No. 3 fantasy backs or flex options in most leagues.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (ankle, foot) has had a "long and complicated" rehab, according to a source. There's no structural damage, but he plateaued during his rehab and sought some electromagnetic treatment. Beat writer Aaron Wilson believes Mixon needs more time.
Huddle Up: That would indicate Nick Chubb is an RB2 option for lineups in Week 1. This could be a situation like we saw in Kansas City the last couple of years where Isiah Pacheco or the lead back got injured, and someone stepped in. When that injured back returned, their role was never the same. We could see it being RB1-A and RB1-B when all parts are healthy.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (ankle, foot) could land on the Physically Unable to Perform list and miss the first four games of the season, in the opinion of beat writer Jonathan Alexander. He hasn't been seen out at practice, nor has he worked off to the side, which would indicate he's not two to three weeks away from returning from the foot or ankle injury he suffered in the offseason.
Huddle Up: Nick Chubb is expected to be the lead back in Mixon's absence and will be a solid RB2 early in the season. He has had a slew of significant leg injuries, but he's coming in at ADP 150 and could really provide a hefty return on that in the opening weeks. As for Mixon, his ADP is at 66, and that should steadily decline the closer we get to the season. He's a risky RB2 that you'll have to ensure you handcuff Chubb to.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (foot) is "not considered a lock" to be ready for Week 1, leagues sources told Aaron Wilson of KPRC.com.
Huddle Up: Mixon has typically been a workhorse when healthy, and while he may miss a game or two, he should still be in the RB2 mix overall. In the meantime, adding Nick Chubb or Dameon Pearce as insurance isn't a bad idea.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (foot) is making steady progress in his recovery from a foot injury, according to a source. The team hopes Mixon will be ready for the start of the regular season.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players should monitor the situation over the next few weeks to see if Mixon will be able to return to the field in time for the regular season opener. He played well last season and will see most of the work in the running game even with the addition of Nick Chubb. He should be a weekly starting option in fantasy leagues if healthy.
