Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers (Achilles) was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday, Nov. 8.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers (Achilles) is confirmed to have torn his Achilles, according to sources Monday, Nov. 6.
Huddle Up: With this confirmed, Akers will miss the remainder of the season, and it very well could be the final time he has relevance for fantasy considering how difficult it is to simply return from one torn Achilles. Akers now has suffered the injury twice, paving the way for Alexander Mattison to be a volume-based RB2.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers (Achilles) is feared to have suffered a torn Achilles in his left foot in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons. Akers suffered a torn Achilles in his right foot in the summer of 2021.
Huddle Up: No athlete on record has come close to returning to their previous form following Achilles tears on both sides of their body, so this could effectively end Akers' athletic career at age 24 if the initial diagnosis is correct. From strictly a fantasy perspective, this injury cements Alexander Mattison as the featured back in Minnesota again. As such, Mattison should once again be considered a RB2 option. There is a good chance Ty Chandler will inherit most of the change-of-pace duties moving forward.

Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers (ankle) suffered an ankle injury during the Week 9 game and has been ruled out.
Huddle Up: Akers has been involved in both the running and passing game since joining the Vikings but may miss some time depending on the severity of their injury. He can be avoided in fantasy leagues for the time being.

Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers rushed nine times for 19 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for six yards in a 24-10 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 8.

Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers rushed 10 times for 31 yards in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers, while adding two grabs for 30 yards on three targets.
Huddle Up: Akers had a total of 12 touches to just 10 for Alexander Mattison. It's uncertain if head coach Kevin O'Connell was leaning into Akers' knowledge and familiarity of the 49ers defense, from his time with the Los Angeles Rams, or if his role is simply growing as he becomes more acclimated in Minneapolis. It's a timeshare in the backfield, and it could be evolving into a hot hand situation. As it stands, Akers and Mattison should be treated as RB3 or flex fantasy options heading into Week 8 at Green Bay.

Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers rushed once for eight yards in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears, while adding a 7-yard reception on his lone target.

Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers rushed five times for 15 yards in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs, and he added two grabs for three yards on his only two targets.

Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers was good for five rushing attempts for 40 yards in Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers in his team debut, while adding two grabs for 11 yards on his pair of targets.
Huddle Up: Akers was productive when he had his number called, averaging 8.0 yards per carry. However, starter Alexander Mattison had 95 rushing yards, and 18 total touches to seven for Akers. The latter is worth scooping up and stashing away on reserve, if you have the roster flexibility, but he isn't worth starting in most fantasy leagues in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
