Free-agent QB Trey Lance (Chargers) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers Saturday, March 14, worth as much as $6.75 million, according to sources.

Los Angeles Chargers QB Trey Lance completed 20 of his 44 passes for 136 yards and an interception in a 19-3 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 18. He also rushed for 69 yards on nine carries and lost a fumble.
Huddle Up: With Justin Herbert resting ahead of the playoffs, Lance had a chance to show what he could do. Unfortunately for LAnce, he was inefficient and struggled with turnovers, although his running ability was on display. Lance seems destined to be a career backup.

Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert (hand) left the Week 13 game against the Las Vegas Raiders due to a left hand (non-throwing hand) injury suffered in the first half. He was taken to the locker room to be evaluated. QB Trey Lance is the team's backup.
Huddle Up: It doesn't sound like a major injury, especially since it's his non-throwing hand, but it could still affect him on handoffs, etc. We'll update Herbert's status once more information is available.

Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert completed 10-of-18 passes for 81 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 11 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he ran three times for 21 yards. He was pulled in the fourth quarter with the game out of hand, as QB Trey Lance mopped up.
Huddle Up: Herbert had an absolute disastrous outing for fantasy managers in a cross-country trip to Duval. He'll look to rebound in Week 13, as the team has a bye in Week 12. Despite this awful stat line, he remains a QB1 in most fantasy leagues when active.

Los Angeles Chargers QB Trey Lance completed 7-of-14 passes for 55 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in the preseason game Sunday, Aug. 10 against the New Orleans Saints, and he ran seven times for a game-best 48 yards and a touchdown.
Huddle Up: Obviously, Lance isn't going to unseat Justin Herbert as the starter, but he has a good shot of pushing aside journeyman Taylor Heinicke for the primary backup job. Rookie DJ Uiagalelei is also in the mix, but he is looking like practice squad material, as he isn't quite ready. Lance shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar, but if Herbert suffers some sort of injury, and Lance is called upon, he could be a sneaky fantasy option or DFS play if the matchup is favorable.

He also ran three times for eight yards in the start, as he tries to lock up the backup job behind QB Justin Herbert.
