Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray anticipates running more often than he has in recent seasons in 2025, according to Johnny Venerable of the PHNX Cardinals podcast. "(Kyler Murray) told us on our show a month ago ... He wants to run more, will run more this year. Take that for what it's worth. ... I think his numbers will be closer to that 2020 season - both passing and rushing. I don't know if he'll ever get back to those rushing yards (819), but a good year for Kyler on the ground (in 2025) would 500-plus yards and five-plus touchdowns," Venerable said.
Huddle Up: As a point of reference, Murray threw for 3,971 yards and 26 touchdowns and ran 133 times for 819 yards and 11 touchdowns as a 23-year-old in 2020. Venerable probably did not realize it, but Murray's 572 rushing yards in 2024 were the second most of his career, so his projection is probably on the low side. It would be music to the ears of fantasy managers if Murray could push for 700 yards on the ground. While a repeat of 2020 is unlikely, passing for 4,000 yards and rushing for 700 would almost certainly make him an elite QB1 in fantasy, assuming he is also able to top 30 combined touchdowns.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray's scrambling ability and ability to create off-scheduled plays need to be utilized more, according to offensive coordinator Drew Petzing. "I think those are game-changing plays," Petzing said. "He's one of the few people in this league that can do it physically at a high level and create some of those. So, we want to make sure we're taking advantage of that."
Huddle Up: Murray has been among the most successful quarterbacks when he has scrambled from the pocket, but he has also battled injuries in the past. The philosophy carries some risk, but if Murray is running more, it would only help his fantasy upside. Consider him a low-end QB1.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray said he expects to run more next season in order to help the offense be more effective.
Huddle Up: Murray ran for 572 yards this past season but probably had more opportunities to run during games. He finished 11th in the NFL with 3,851 passing yards and should have another good season in 2025. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray completed 25 of his 35 passes for 242 yards and four touchdowns in a 47-24 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 18. He also rushed three times for 22 yards.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray completed 33 of his 48 passes for a season-high 321 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in a 13-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 17. He added 32 rushing yards on four attempts.
Huddle Up: Murray piled up yards, but the interceptions ultimately cost the Cardinals a chance at the win and preveneted him from having a big performance for fantasy owners.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray completed 20-of-32 passes for 202 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers, while adding eight runs for 63 yards and a score.
Huddle Up: Murray has accounted for two or fewer total touchdowns in five straight outings, and he hasn't gone over 300 yards since late October. Murray should continue to be treated as a QB2 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 17.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (lower body) completed 23-of-30 passes for 224 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 15 against the New England Patriots, and he ran five times for 11 yards. Murray left the game briefly due to an apparent lower-body injury, as QB Clayton Tune completed 2-of-2 for eight yards with one run.
Huddle Up: Murray didn't do much against a surprisingly stout New England Patriots defense. He'll look to rebound in Week 16 on the road against the Carolina Panthers. Murray should be able to put up good numbers against a shaky Panthers defense, but he should still be treated as more of a QB2 in most fantasy formats at this critical juncture of the season.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (lower body) suffered an apparent lower-body injury in the third quarter of the Week 15 game against the New England Patriots, and he went to the blue medical tent. QB Clayton Tune replaced him under center.
Huddle Up: It's uncertain what kind of injury Murray suffered, but he was hurt after landing awkwardly trying to make a jump throw. On the play, a roughing the passer was called. If he is able to return, or if there is an update with his injury, we'll pass it along.

Huddle Up: Murray popped up on the injury report on Friday with an illness, but he was still able to log a full practice and was removed from the injury report. He's a borderline QB1 in a Week 15 matchup against the New England Patriots.
