Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions TE T.J. Hockenson's fifth-year option was exercised Tuesday, April 26.
Huddle Up: Hockenson has demonstrated the traits of an elite fantasy tight end at times in his three pro seasons. Unfortunately, injuries have been an issue, and he struggled with consistent double-teams last year as the Lions' receiving corps, led by rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown, took most of the season to find success. Hockenson's per-game production ever so slightly increased from 11.0 to 11.9 PPR points from his sophomore year to 2021, but he scored two fewer times on six fewer grabs and averaged a paltry 9.6 yards per reception. He'll be an intriguing risk-reward fantasy target as a low-end TE1 with top-five upside.

Detroit Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (hand) did not practice for a second consecutive day Friday, Dec. 10, and is listed as doubtful for Week 14 versus the Denver Broncos.
Huddle Up: The Lions won their first game last week and their reward is to face the Broncos, most likely without the services of their top three offensive players in D'Andre Swift, Jamaal Williams and Hockenson. Brock Wright is the most likely replacement for Hockenson and scored a touchdown last week, but he is a poor bet to pay another visit to the end zone. Expect Detroit to reroute Hockenson eight to 10 targets through Amon-Ra St. Brown and Josh Reynolds instead.
