Houston Texans RB Dameon Pierce will be "a big part of what we're doing (in 2024)," according to general manager Nick Caserio during his appearance on Sports Radio 610 on Thursday, May 2. "The big thing right now is to be in good condition - which he is. Watching him move on the field, he looks pretty good. Everybody's looking forward to the opportunity in front of them; you can't worry about what's happened in the past. He's got as good an attitude as anyone on the team. We're glad DP is here. He's going to be a big part of what we're doing. He's working his (butt) off so far, which is great to see," Caserio said.
Huddle Up: To say the least, Pierce had a forgettable second season after being one of the few good things about the team's offense in 2022. Pierce will likely begin training camp as the primary backup to Joe Mixon, who is expected to handle the bulk of the work in the backfield, although he will have to hold off sixth-round draft choice Jawhar Jordan for the privilege. Given Mixon's expected bell-cow role, Pierce should be viewed as nothing more than a handcuff option in fantasy this summer.

Houston Texans RB Dameon Pierce rushed for three yards on one carry against the Tennessee Titans in Week 15.
Huddle Up: Devin Singletary appears to be the main running back for the Texans, so Pierce can be avoided in all leagues unless Singletary suffers an injury.

Houston Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) is officially active for the Week 12 game.
Huddle Up: Pierce missed nearly a month because of the injury, so he may not receive his normal workload in Week 12. He should still see a good amount of touches during the game and can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

Houston Texans RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) is expected to be active for the Week 12 game even though he is listed as questionable for the game, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players can check the inactive list for Pierce's official status, but it seems he will be involved in the offense even if he does not receive his regular workload. He can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.
