Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce agreed to terms on a new one-year contract with the Chiefs Monday, March 9, worth $12 million, according to a source. The deal can be worth as much as $15 million with incentives.
Huddle Up: Kelce is not posting the same numbers he did earlier in his career but is still a main part of the Chiefs passing game. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs impending free-agent TE Travis Kelce has decided to return in 2026, and his goal is to return to the Chiefs.
Huddle Up: Kelce was the TE3 in fantasy with a 76-851-5 campaign. At 36, he'll be a midrange TE1 option with a boost in PPR formats.

Kansas City Chiefs impending free-agent TE Travis Kelce is expected to play a 14th NFL season, and his representation is indicating they are expected to talk to multiple teams about their client. It was assumed he could either retire or re-sign with the Chiefs, especially once the team brought back offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, and Kelce was said to be excited.
Huddle Up: It sure would be strange to see Kelce in another uniform, and it could simply be a smoke screen from his representation. We'll see. Wherever he lands, assuming he doesn't retire, Kelce would still be a legit low-end TE1 in most fantasy leagues in 2026.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce has yet to decide upon retirement or his future plans, but he is excited about the return of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy to the organization. "It's great," he said recently on his podcast. "I can't wait to see him back in the building. He's one of my favorite coaches of all time. I've had so many unbelievable growing moments under him as a player."
Huddle Up: Kelce led the team with 76 receptions, 851 receiving yards, 108 targets, five receiving touchdowns and 45 receiving first downs, so he has plenty left in the tank. Could the return of Bieniemy make it easier for Kelce to decide to run it back for one more season? The organization certainly hopes he can play at least one more season, and that could have been part of the reason to bring back Bieniemy. If Kelce plays again in 2026, he would certainly be a low-end TE1 in most fantasy leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce has had "communication" with himself and the team, according to head coach Andy Reid. He adds there is no update on his decision to play in the 2026 NFL season.
Huddle Up: While Kelce is mauling retirement, his fantasy continues to shrink. He is long past his prime years, and the late-season ACL tear to QB Patrick Mahomes complicates matters further. Fantasy players could start to make their post-Kelce plans regardless of his decision.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce plans to get in touch with the team after the Super Bowl to discuss his future plans, according to multiple sources. The 36-year-old had reportedly been contemplating retirement but the Chiefs would like him to return for at least one more season.
Huddle Up: Although Kelce has not announced an official decision regarding playing in 2026, he made a comment on his podcast celebrating the recent return of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy to the Chiefs' coaching staff which hinted that he could come back for the 2026 campaign. If Kelce's playing career continues, he will continue to play an important role in the Kansas City offense and could be viewed as a low-end TE1 in fantasy leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce has not made an official decision on his playing future, but people close to him believe he could play again in 2026, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation during the offseason to see if Kelce retires or continues playing. He will continue to be a solid part in the Chiefs passing game if he plays in 2026 and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce hauled in three of his six targets for 12 yards in Week 18 versus the Las Vegas Raiders.
Huddle Up: In what might have been the final game of his storied career, Kelce can be excused for having such a poor performance since he was catching passes from Shane Buechele and Chris Oladokun. Kelce has said previously that he intends to decide about his playing future before the start of free agency. Until then, prospecting dynasty managers should consider stashing Noah Gray if they still can.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce caught five of his six targets for 35 yards in a 20-13 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 17.
Huddle Up: Kelce led the Chiefs in catches, targets and receiving yards, but with Chris Oladokun starting, Kelce was limited to shorter routes. Kelce will likely be leaned on again in the season finale, but big plays could be tough to come by. Kelce's ceiling is likely to suffer, making him a low-end TE1 option.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce ended up with a single 6-yard reception on four targets in Week 16 against the Tennessee Titans.
Huddle Up: Kelce has looked disinterested at times this season, but it's really going to be a challenge now that Patrick Mahomes was lost to an ACL last week, and Gardner Minshew suffered the same fate this week. Kelce has morphed into more of a low-end TE2 in fantasy leagues lately, especially now that he is catching passes for third-string QB Chris Oladokun.
