Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith (hip/knee) returned to practice Monday, Aug. 5.
Huddle Up: As long as Smith is healthy, he's a viable QB2 option for fantasy managers.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith (hip, knee) did not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 3, but is expected to return to practice next week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Huddle Up: It seems like Smith is dealing with some minor issues, but fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation. He has one of the better receiver corps to work with but probably should still be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith (knee, hip) had imaging done that didn't reveal anything major, and he's not expected to miss time.
Huddle Up: Smith is a so-so QB2 and is best served in two-QB leagues.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith (hip, knee) has been dealing with some injuries and is scheduled to undergo some imaging on the injuries, according to head coach Mike Macdonald.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players can monitor the situation to see how long Smith may be sidelined. He will be the Seahawks starter as long as he is healthy but probably is only a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith (hip, knee) did not practice Wednesday, July 31, to rest some soreness in his hip and knee.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith is entering a "make-or-break" season, in the opinion of The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar, who notes Smith has a cap hit of $38.5 million in 2025 and will need to prove to the new coaching staff that he's worth having his contract reworked.
Huddle Up: Smith wasn't nearly as productive last year as he was in 2022, and he enters 2024 on the low end of QB2 territory despite a talented top-three receivers. Given that the Seahawks traded for QB Sam Howell, who started for the Washington Commanders last season, you can imagine Smith could be on a relatively short leash.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith said he likes the scheme that offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb is bringing to the team because it matches his drop-back passing style of play.
Huddle Up: Smith saw a drop in his stats this last season but still has one of the better receiving corps to work with in the NFL. He should be able to improve on his stats in 2024 but probably will be a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith will not have any competition for the starting job next season, and QB Sam Howell knows he will be the backup, according to head coach Mike Macdonald.
Huddle Up: Smith will have to learn a new offense this offseason but still has one of the better receiver groups in the NFL. He probably should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most fantasy leagues and will not be in the starting lineup often.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith is not a lock to start in 2024 based on recent comments by head coach Mike Macdonald during a radio interview on Friday, March 8.
Huddle Up: Smith came back down to earth in 2024 but his overall numbers weren't terrible, with the Seahawks signal-caller finishing as QB18 overall despite missing two games due to injury. Smith has a massive dead-cap number this year and cutting him wouldn't net any savings, so it looks like he'll be on the roster no matter what, barring a trade. As far as competition is concerned, the Seahawks don't have any on the roster and Smith's stiffest competition might come from a rookie if Seattle drafts a quarterback. The veteran would be considered the favorite to start in that situation and if he wins, Smith will enter 2024 as a QB2.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith "is the quarterback until he's not," according to general manager John Schneider.
Huddle Up: Smith was the QB17 in 15 games last year. The team has the 16th overall selection and no second-round picks. So it'll be interesting to see if they try to land a quarterback in the middle of the first round or trade up. Smith is a decent QB2 "until he's not."
