Detroit Lions TE T.J. Hockenson is considered the leading candidate to start at tight end this upcoming season, but he likely will be sharing playing time with TE Jesse James.
Huddle Up: Hockenson likely will be a weapon in the red zone, but fantasy players will need to monitor him during training camp and the preseason. He has a chance to be a No. 2 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

Detroit Lions TE T.J. Hockenson is likely to be a co-starter in Week 1 with TE Jesse James, in the opinion of beat writer Kyle Meinke
Huddle Up: Hockenson has some TE2 upside, but he has a limited forecast early on if he's sharing time.

Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent TE Jesse James agreed to a four-year, $25 million deal with the Detroit Lions, according to a source. He will receive $11 million fully guaranteed.
Huddle Up: James looks to have some upside as a high-end TE2 with this signing.

Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent TE Jesse James plans to sign with the Detroit Lions, according to a source. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: James is a solid tight end and likely will compete for the starting job next season. He posted 423 yards and two touchdowns this past season but should see more targets with the Lions. He probably should be considered a No. 2 tight end in fantasy leagues.

The Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly very interested in Pittsburgh Steelers TE Jesse James, who is expected to become a free agent next month, according to DraftAnalyst.com's Tony Pauline.
Huddle Up: Pittsburgh is interested in signing the 24-year-old James to a contract extension but he currently appears as the Steelers' No. 2 option at tight end on their depth chart behind Vance McDonald, so it wouldn't be surprising if he takes his talents elsewhere. If he winds up with a starting role in 2019, he should be viewed as a low-end TE1.

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Jesse James caught two passes for 53 yards against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9.
Huddle Up: James has been targeted three times or less in five of the last six games and is not a big part of the passing game. Owners in most leagues can avoid James moving forward.

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Jesse James posted just one reception for seven yards on his only target in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, Sept. 24.
Huddle Up: Yuck. Vance McDonald got off to a huge start with a 75-yard stiff arm and score in the first quarter and James was a forgotten man in the offense. James and the Steelers will welcome the Ravens to town in Week 4. Treat James as a TE2 for that matchup.

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Jesse James posted five receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown on five targets in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Huddle Up: James, a yinzer from McKeesport, Penn., is going to be a fan favorite at this rate. Ben Roethlisberger loves to use the tight end, jelling for years with Heath Miller, and James is quickly emerging as a star. He'll try to keep it going in Week 3 against the Buccaneers on Monday night.

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Jesse James finished with three receptions for 60 yards on five targets in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns.
Huddle Up: Ben Roethlisberger loves utilizing his tight end, so James will always have some fantasy value as long as he is healthy. He isn't quite as productive as former stud tight end and fantasy favorite Heath Miller, but he is a decent low-end TE1 in fantasy leagues of 14 or more teams.

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Jesse James failed to haul in his only target in the team's Week 16 game Monday, Dec. 25, against the Houston Texans, finishing with zero yards.
Huddle Up: It was his second game this season with zero catches. James undoubtedly let some people down in deeper formats, considering he had been gaining some steam as of late, having accumulated a whopping 17 targets over his last two games. He only saw a single look in this one, however, and produced zilch.
