Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson registered four receptions for a team-best 59 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the New York Giants on six targets.
Huddle Up: There was a lot of doom and gloom surrounding Jefferson's fantasy outlook. He is obviously a WR1, and one of the best in the NFL, but there were concerns having a drop in talent under center going from Kirk Cousins to Sam Darnold. So far, so good. He'll look to continue jelling in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson (personal) did not participate in practice due to a personal matter on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
Huddle Up: It seems very unlikely this is anything that fantasy managers need to concern themselves with, especially at this point of the preseason. It is worth noting, however, that Jalen Nailor took nearly all of the first-team reps in Jefferson's place. Nailor is reportedly having a great camp and is considered the favorite to be the team's No. 3 receiver. As far as Jefferson is concerned, he should be considered a top-five fantasy receiver even without Kirk Cousins.

Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson leads all receivers with 98.4 receiving yards per game and 29 games of 100-plus yards since entering the NFL in 2020.

The San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts reportedly expressed interest in trading for Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson before the 2024 NFL Draft. However, all of the clubs that contacted Minnesota were told that he was not being traded. Jefferson wound up agreeing to a contract extension with the Vikings Monday, June 3.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson's four-year, $140 million deal has $88.7 million guaranteed at signing and a signing bonus of $36.9 million. Jefferson will account for cap hits of $15.3 million in 2025, $39.1 million in 2026, $43.3 million in 2027 and $47.3 million in 2028. The deal includes a void year in 2029 that costs $6 million.

Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson agreed to a four-year $140 million extension Monday, June 3. The deal includes $110 million guaranteed and makes him the highest-paid player outside of quarterbacks.
Huddle Up: He had 68 grabs for 1,074 yards and 5 TDs in just 10 games last year and is easily one of the top-three considerations in fantasy drafts. His quarterback could present some cause for concern, though.

The Minnesota Vikings appear unlikely to add a third wide receiver via free agency to go alongside WRs Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert.
Huddle Up: Last year's third receiver, K.J. Osborn, left Minnesota via free agency to join the New England Patriots. Current in-house candidates for the No. 3 spot on the wide receiver depth chart include Trent Sherfield, Brandon Powell, N'Keal Harry and Jalen Nailor and may be worthy of consideration as late-round fliers in deeper fantasy football leagues.

Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson was absent for the start of voluntary OTAs as he negotiates a contract extension, according to sources Monday, May 20.
Huddle Up: This is expected for Jefferson, who isn't going to risk getting hurt before he inks a record deal. Managers should assume Jefferson gets an extension this offseason while still monitoring the situation if it leaks into the summer.

Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson was not in attendance for the start of voluntary offseason workouts Monday, April 15.
Huddle Up: Jefferson is looking to get a new contract this offseason so this should come as no surprise. If he begins a holdout during the mandatory part of workouts, then this situation bears monitoring. For now, Jefferson is still an elite WR1.

Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson has been the subject of some trade rumors lately, but general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah likely stopped any further talk about the subject on Tuesday, Feb. 27, when he told reporters trading Jefferson is "not something that has once crossed my mind."
Huddle Up: Jefferson's name is being discussed because he is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2024 season and is likely to set a new standard for receiver salaries. Adofo-Mensah's statement should halt any more significant trade rumors in the near future. Assuming Kirk Cousins and Jefferson remain together in 2024, the latter should once again be considered - at worst - a top-two or three fantasy receiver.
