Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle) was a limited participant in practice for the second straight day on Thursday, Jan. 2.
Huddle Up: Mahomes will not play this week, as the Chiefs are resting their starters with nothing to play for. Carson Wentz will get the start but is not a suggested lineup option, as he'll be throwing to backups.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and other starters will not play in Week 18, head coach Andy Reid said on Wednesday, Jan. 1. QB Carson Wentz will start in Mahomes' place.
Huddle Up: This comes as no surprise, as the Chiefs have nothing to play for in Week 18. Wentz is not a suggested lineup option.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 29 of 38 passes for 330 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions at the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17 on Wednesday, Dec. 25. He rushed for 12 yards on his only attempt and was not sacked.
Huddle Up: With the No. 1 seed locked up, it will be surprising if Mahomes is on the field at all in Week 18 at the Denver Broncos.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle) practiced in full again on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and has been removed from the injury report for Week 17 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Huddle Up: Mahomes surprisingly appeared to be in minimal pain while playing through his high-ankle sprain during the team's Week 16 win over the Houston Texans, even running for 33 yards and a touchdown in one of his best fantasy performances of the season. The 29-year-old could be primed for another big day against a Pittsburgh defense that will be missing Joey Porter Jr. (knee) and should be in the mid-range QB1 conversation for the Christmas Day tilt.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle) fully participated in practice Monday, Dec. 23. The Chiefs did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation.
Huddle Up: Mahomes is on track to play this week and likely will play the entire game since the team is looking to clinch the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. He probably should only be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues.

Huddle Up: Mahomes was able to play in Week 16 despite the injury and should be available again for the game against Pittsburgh Steelers. He has been productive over the last several games and can be a low-end No. 1 quarterback or high-end No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Huddle Up: Mahomes escaped unscathed but has a short week with a Christmas Day showdown at the Pittsburgh Steelers, making it three games in 10 days for the star passer. He has low-tier QB1 floor but could be facing an injury-ravaged secondary, providing upside.
