Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold threw a catchable ball on 87.8 percent of his passes in 2021, according to Sports Info Solutions. That was the second-best mark in the league for any quarterback with more than 200 drop-backs.
Huddle Up: Roughly 99 percent of fantasy content in the world about Darnold is negative, so this is definitely a change of pace. Darnold enjoyed a MVP-caliber September last season before falling off a cliff, so he does have the ability to be good at times. His biggest issue as a pro has been making terrible decisions at the worst times. If new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo can help change that, then perhaps he can hold onto his starting job all season long.

Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold believes he can be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. "I'm confident that I can be one of the best quarterbacks in the league. So I'm just gonna continue to go out there and do that."
Huddle Up: Seeing is believing, and as of right now we haven't seen anything to suggest Darnold can be a competent quarterback, let alone one of the best in the NFL. The only semblance of fantasy relevance Darnold has going into 2022 is as a fringe starter in two quarterback leagues.

Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold is the team's starting quarterback for the team at this point, according to offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo.
Huddle Up: The Panthers have been linked to several quarterbacks this offseason, but Darnold is the main quarterback at this time. Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see who will be the starting quarterback for the Panthers in 2022.

Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold completed 17 of 26 passes for 132 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Jan. 2. He was sacked seven times.
Huddle Up: Carolina has now dropped six in a row, averaging 13.7 points per game in the process. It's unclear how Tampa Bay will approach Week 18, but given how poor everything surrounding the Panthers offense has looked for weeks now there's no appeal with Darnold.

Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold will be the starting quarterback for the Panthers in Week 17, according to head coach Matt Rhule.
Huddle Up: Darnold should receive most of the snaps against the New Orleans Saints, but Cam Newton should still have a role in the offense. Darnold threw for 190 yards last week but can be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold completed 15-of-32 passes for 190 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Huddle Up: It was Darnold's first action since Nov. 7 after a scapula injury. He split time under center with Cam Newton, and neither really did much of anything. The Carolina QB situation is a mess for fantasy purposes heading into Week 17 at New Orleans.

Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold (shoulder) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 25.
Huddle Up: Darnold will not start this week but will see playing time against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He could regain the starting job over the last two weeks but can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold (shoulder) was designated to return from the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Dec. 15.
Huddle Up: Darnold will return to practice, but he's unlikely to play this week. He probably doesn't move the needle enough in fantasy to roster.

Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold (shoulder) isn't ready yet, but head coach Matt Rhule said Darnold could be a factor down the stretch.
Huddle Up: He's not an option in fantasy this year. Cam Newton is a very meager one.
