Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is expected to return to the team in 2023, his mother, Diane Tagovailoa, said recently. "Oh, he comes back," she said. "Yeah, he comes back. That's [the Dolphins'] guy. I mean, they love him. We love them and what they're doing and how [they are] helping him with his recovery and everything else, you know, trying to get him back, still going through his protocol, but we're grateful for them, too."
Huddle Up: While there is obvious concern about Tagovailoa's long-term well-being after multiple ugly concussions this year, it appears he'll stick as Miami's starter for at least another season. It's understandable if fantasy managers look to trade him this offseason, as another concussion could put his career in doubt, but Tagovailoa will be a borderline QB1 in 2023 if he can stay on the field.

Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) remains in the league's concussion protocol as of Friday, Jan. 27, and will not participate in any Pro Bowl activities next week, according to a source. Tagovailoa was placed in the protocol after he reported symptoms late last month.
Huddle Up: Per ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques, Tagovailoa has not experienced a setback but rather going through a deliberate progression through the protocol. Either way, it is a concern for a player who had a tough year in regards to head injuries. It appears Miami may need to put some serious thought into adding a quarterback in the draft or via free agency if it can't bring back Teddy Bridgewater or is lukewarm about Skylar Thompson's development.

Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is expected to be "100 percent, ready to go," for 2023 from a health perspective, according to general manager Chris Grier following multiple conversations with doctors about Tagovailoa's head injuries in 2022. "I don't think he's any more prone (to concussions) than anyone else," Grier told reporters after speaking with consultants.
Huddle Up: Head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters Monday that he will make it a priority to get Tagovailoa to avoid hits better moving forward. However, the bigger issue here is not whether or not Tagovailoa is more prone to concussions moving forward, but if the brain injuries he has already suffered on top of any other future ones will affect his long-term quality of life. The Dolphins may be 100 percent committed to Tagovailoa moving forward, but they need to be equally sure they are doing right by their quarterback and also protecting themselves for the future in case Tagovailoa or his family don't want him to threaten his long-term health.

Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is expected to return as the team's starting quarterback for the 2023 season, according to multiple league sources. If the team is able to upset the Buffalo Bills in their Wild Card game Sunday, Jan. 15, Tagovailoa could be cleared to return from concussion protocol and possibly resume playing later in the postseason.
Huddle Up: Tagovailoa has not done any on-field work since experiencing concussion symptoms following Week 16's game versus the Green Bay Packers nearly three weeks ago. Skylar Thompson will serve as Miami's starting quarterback in his absence but is not a recommended DFS lineup option.

Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) still has not been cleared for on-field work at this point. He has been ruled out for the Wild Card playoff game.
Huddle Up: It looks like Tagovailoa will still be unavailable even if the team is able to beat the Buffalo Bills this week. He should not be a fantasy option until next season.

Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) did not practice all week and was ruled out for the Wild Card Round on Friday, Jan. 13.
Huddle Up: No surprise here, as Tagovailoa was expected to miss this game since the beginning of the week. Skylar Thompson will get the nod with Teddy Bridgewater (finger, knee) not healthy enough to play, but he is not a suggested DFS play.
