Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney can be "a No. 1 type receiver," according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, and may be enough to keep the team from aggressively pursuing free-agent WR DeAndre Hopkins.
Huddle Up: Multiple NFL insiders and reporters have pounded the drum from Toney this offseason, so it should come as no surprise that we are hearing it yet again. Toney's ability to be a major target earner is not in question; he creates separation like few others. The problem is his injury history, as he played only 19 of a possible 33 games since he was drafted by the New York Giants in 2021. While fantasy managers will have to decide if they want to roll the dice on his durability, his ceiling as Patrick Mahomes' top wideout is immense.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney has never had the chance to play with a quarterback who pushes the ball down the field like QB Patrick Mahomes, according to general manager Brett Veach, and Veach believes "the sky is the limit" for Toney in the Kansas City offense.
Huddle Up: Toney has dealt with injuries and inconsistent play throughout his career, but he will probably never have a better chance to live up to his potential than he will this season. Toney could legitimately emerge as the No. 1 receiver for the Chiefs, but he will be a high-risk, high-reward heading into 2023.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney is a player who can "do anything," according to general manager Brett Veach on Thursday, April 20.
Huddle Up: Veach added: "I don't know if there's a limit to his game." While the general manager is probably being overly enthusiastic about last year's midseason acquisition, it still reflects what the club thinks about how talented he is. The Chiefs' lack of additions at receiver this offseason reflects this feeling and reinforces earlier reports about the team viewing Toney as their top receiver. His biggest challenge has been staying healthy. If he can do that starting in 2023, he has legitimate WR1 upside.

Kansas City Chiefs WRs Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore "will probably have bigger roles" in 2023, according to head coach Andy Reid.
Huddle Up: Toney and Moore playing more in 2023 was probably going to happen regardless of what the Chiefs do this offseason, but Kansas City may have no choice but to make the duo a bigger part of the offense with JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman set to reach free agency. Toney's emergence seems the more likely of the two considering how dynamic he has proven to be in open space. He has the talent to eventually give the offense some of the things Tyreek Hill used to if he can stay healthy and could very well be this summer's must-have fantasy sleeper.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney tallied one catch for five yards and a touchdown and recorded a 65-yard punt return that set up another Chiefs touchdown in the Super Bowl 57 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (ankle, hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Feb. 10, and is not on the injury report for Super Bowl LVII.
Huddle Up: Toney has had a solid role in the offense since being acquired by the team. He should see a decent amount of targets during the game and can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (ankle, hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Feb. 9.
Huddle Up: Toney seems to be on track to play in Super Bowl LVII and should see a decent amount of targets in the passing game. He can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (ankle, hamstring) did "everything that was planned for him to do" and was "running around like crazy" during practice Wednesday, Feb. 8, according to head coach Andy Reid. Per Reid, the team will remain cautious with his outlook until the team finishes practice Thursday, Feb. 9.
Huddle Up: Reid noted that Thursday's practice is expected to be the hardest of the week, so fantasy enthusiasts will need to hope he escapes unscathed. Toney has the potential to be a big difference-maker in Super Bowl LVII and moving into 2023, but he desperately needs to avoid the soft-tissue injuries that have plagued him over the course of his first two NFL seasons. If he avoids a setback Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, Toney has a great chance to be Kansas City's most productive receiver.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (ankle, hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Huddle Up: Toney has been dealing with the injuries over the last few weeks, but the team is optimistic about his availability for Super Bowl LVII. He can be a flex option in some leagues if he is active for the game.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (ankle) said he's definitely playing in the Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 12.
Huddle Up: Toney will be a boom-or-bust midrange DFS option. If he can be a factor, it will only open more things for TE Travis Kelce.
