Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen says Colts QB Daniel Jones "is not fazed by anything anymore", according to a report on Tuesday, March 31.
Huddle Up: "He's been heavily criticized in New York. He's had an injury here. He had another injury with the Giants (torn ACL)," Steichen explained. "He's been through the fire pretty good." Jones was one of the top fantasy QBs in 2025 until tearing his Achilles in Week 14 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jones completed 68 percent of his passes for 3,101 yards with 19 touchdowns while adding five scores on the ground in 13 games.

Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones (Achilles) has a chance to be ready to start in Week 1, according to general manager Chris Ballard. "We feel good about where he is at and where he's going," Ballard said.
Huddle Up: Jones was putting together a solid season before injuries struck, culminating with an Achilles injury that ended his season. Assuming Jones is ready to start the season, he has shown he can be a steady QB2 in the Indianapolis offense.

Updating an earlier report, Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones will have $50 million in base salary in 2026, which is $12.2 million more than the transition tag, with a chance to earn $6 million more in incentives. His base pay is $38 million in 2027 with a chance earn another $6 million in incentives. As part of the incentives, Jones gets $100,000 per win, if he plays at least 50% of the offensive snaps in the game, over the next two years.
Huddle Up: Jones is hoping to return from a torn Achilles from late last season by Week 1. He was the QB16 in 13 games last season, which would put him in the glut of low-end QB1s if you miss out on your top target. The injury is expected to hinder his mobility for a big portion, maybe all of this season, and that pegs him a midrange QB2 in fantasy.

Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent QB Daniel Jones agreed to a two-year, $88 million deal with the Colts Wednesday, March 11. The deal has a max value of $100 million.
Huddle Up: Jones hopes to be ready for Week 1 after tearing his Achilles late last season. His mobility will be a big question mark, which makes him prone for hits and other injuries. Take him as a midrange QB2 for use in two-QB or superflex leagues.

Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent QB Daniel Jones has made significant progress on a two-year extension that would replace the transition tag Wednesday, March 11.
Huddle Up: Jones tore his Achilles late last season but is hoping to make it back early in 2026. Even when he returns, we've seen mobility extremely slow to return in quarterbacks after the injury. He'll be a QB2 option best kept in superflex or two-QB leagues.

The Indianapolis Colts placed the transition tag on QB Daniel Jones on Tuesday, March 3. The tag will pay Jones $37.8 million and allow for the Colts to match any deal he agrees to with another team.
Huddle Up: Jones returning to the Colts would be the best for his fantasy value, as the Colts showed they can utilize him best. Due to his Achilles injury, he could miss time, so his fantasy stock for 2026 remains up in the air.

Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones may get franchise tagged by the deadline by the Colts, but that deal happening is '50/50', according to Adam Schefter on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday, March 2.
Huddle Up: Jones was a revelation in his first eight weeks of the 2025 season, as he and the Colts' offense were cooking to the tune of 13 touchdowns to just three interceptions. After that, the team slowed down considerably and Jones was lost for the season in Week 14 with an Achilles tear. He was on pace for his best fantasy season. Still, with a major injury recovery ahead of him, news of his recuperation throughout the summer will tell us whether he'll be ready for Week 1 with the Colts or another NFL team. Jones is a streaming-level quarterback in fantasy with some rushing upside when healthy in 2026.

Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent QB Daniel Jones could have the franchise tag or transition tag placed on him if the team is unable to finalize a contract extension before the deadline Tuesday, March 3. Jones would receive $43.9 million on the franchise tag and $37.8 million on the transition tag but in the latter scenario, Indianapolis would receive no compensation if Jones signs an offer sheet with a different team and the Colts decline to match.
Huddle Up: Jones does not appear to be close to a long-term deal at this time. Prior to sustaining an Achilles injury last December, Jones had been enjoying one of the best seasons of his career and he can be viewed as a reliable QB2 option once he has fully recovered.

Free-agent QB Daniel Jones (Colts) has been in discussions with the Indianapolis Colts on a multi-year deal.
Huddle Up: Jones suffered an Achilles tear Dec. 7, and he's not likely to be a viable fantasy option in drafts this season. It's possible he plays at some point in 2026, but we have seen it take a year after returning to really get past the injury.

Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones could have the franchise tag placed on him while the team works on an extension.
Huddle Up: Before Jones suffered a season-ending injury, he was on pace to have the best season of his career and be a bona fide QB1. There will be questions, but remaining with the Colts should help him to perhaps repeat his 2025 performance in some fashion.
