Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf, who is reportedly seeking a new contract worth nearly $30 million per season, is reportedly available for a first- and third-round draft choice, according to sources.
Huddle Up: The Seahawks are right to demand a Day 1 and Day 2 draft pick in return for a top receiver in his prime and Metcalf is being reasonable to ask for a contract given the recent market for receivers. It will be the combination of the two factors (multiple early picks and huge contract) that might end being too much for most teams. With that said, multiple teams have reportedly inquired and it would not be shocking if he gets dealt at this point. The good news is Metcalf will almost certainly be an alpha receiver wherever he lands, so he seems like a good bet to remain a high-end fantasy WR2 at worst.

Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf requested a trade, and the team has agreed to explore options, according to sources Wednesday, March 5.
Huddle Up: Metcalf is in the final year of his contract so it's likely he'll be seeking a new deal if he finds a new home. Finishing the season as the WR31, Metcalf missed two games and was simply not himself after coming back from the knee injury. Over the final eight games of the season, Metcalf averaged 8.7 fantasy points per game and had just one finish inside the top-24. He still has WR2 value, and his ceiling may be dependent on his landing spot.

Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf has been discussed as a trade candidate this offseason, but the Green Bay Packers are not among the teams that have engaged in any negotiations for him, according to a source.
Huddle Up: It seems highly unlikely Metcalf will be traded anywhere, especially after it was recently reported that Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald made it known that most - if not all - of the candidates for the offensive coordinator vacancy (filled by Klint Kubiak) came into their interviews with a plan to unleash Metcalf at the top of their list. A 27-year-old alpha receiver also would not come cheap for the acquiring team in terms of draft pick compensation, so expect Metcalf to return to Seattle in 2025 and bounce back from a disappointing season in a big way.

Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf has been the subject of trade inquiries from "a couple of teams" around the league, according to Corbin K. Smith of Locked On Seahawks.
Huddle Up: Smith reported that there's no imminent trade and that Seattle isn't actively shopping Metcalf. The 27-year-old wide receiver posted 66 receptions for 992 yards and five touchdowns -- all career-low numbers since his rookie season. A healthy Metcalf still has upside, but he hasn't had a top-12 season since 2021 so he's best viewed as a WR2.

Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf is coming off one of his worst seasons as a pro in 2024 (66 catches for 992 yards and five touchdowns). However, it appears one of the priorities for head coach Mike Macdonald when interviewing offensive coordinator candidates last month was how each one would not allow that to happen again. "We have to (maximize Metcalf). But we have to go through the process of how we do it. It's, how can you move him around? How you can take care of match-ups. The route tree that's available on how we want to build it," Macdonald said.
Huddle Up: The News Tribune' Gregg Bell reported that every candidate had how their plan for using Metcalf "at the top of their mind." There is no question defenses did what they could to minimize Metcalf in 2024, but the hope for Macdonald is that new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak does more to free up Metcalf than his predecessor (Ryan Grubb) did. Especially with Tyler Lockett unlikely to return, volume should not be an issue for Metcalf in 2025, so it would be no surprise if he is a top 20 fantasy receiver again after a disappointing campaign in 2024.

Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf caught three of his five targets for 53 yards and a touchdown in a 30-25 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18.

Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf caught all three of his targeted passes for 42 yards during the team's Week 17 win over the Chicago Bears.
Huddle Up: On a night when Seattle's offense struggled, Metcalf's most memorable moment came when he picked up two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on the same play. Other than that, it was simply another forgettable outing in a largely forgettable season. After opening the year with three 100-plus-yard efforts in his first four games, Metcalf has only topped 60 yards three times in his last 10. Drafted as a potential top-10 fantasy wideout, Metcalf has struggled to deliver steady WR3 value for much of 2024.

Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf caught three of his seven targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in a 27-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16.
Huddle Up: Metcalf had gone five games without finding the end zone, and he has just four touchdowns all season. Overall, Metcalf has cooled after a strong start, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba seems to have surpassed him in the pecking order. Metcalf has become more of a WR3 each week.

Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf (shoulder) practiced in full for the second straight day on Friday, Dec. 20, and was removed from the Week 16 injury report.
Huddle Up: After a strong start to the season, Metcalf has fallen off big time, which comes in tandem with the emergence of Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Metcalf is a flex option entering Week 16.

Seattle Seahawks TE Brady Russell (foot) and LB Trevis Gipson (ankle) did not practice on Friday, Dec. 20, and were ruled out for Week 16. Also, S K'Von Wallace (ankle) practiced in full but was ruled out, DL Johnathan Hankins (illness, rest) did not practice but carries no designation and RB Zach Charbonnet (oblique), RB Kenneth Walker III (calf), WR DK Metcalf (shoulder), C Olu Oluwatimi (knee), DE Leonard Williams (foot, rest), CB Tre Brown (hamstring), TE Noah Fant (knee), LB Ernest Jones (knee), OT Abraham Lucas (rest, knee), TE AJ Barner (knee) and QB Geno Smith (knee) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.
