Updating previous reports, Chicago Bears NT Andrew Billings (pectoral) is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024 season recovering from surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle. DTs Zacch Pickens, Chris Z. Williams and Byron Cowart are expected to fill his role.

Chicago Bears TE Stephen Carlson (collarbone) was placed on injured reserve on Saturday, Sept. 28. Also, DL Byron Cowart and CB Tarvarius Moore were elevated from the practice squad for Week 4.

Chicago Bears RB Travis Homer (finger) was placed on injured reserve on Saturday, Sept. 21. Also, WR Collin Johnson and DT Byron Cowart were elevated from the practice squad for Week 3.

Chicago Bears QB Austin Reed, TE Brenden Bates, OL Theo Benedet, OT Jake Curhan, DE Jamree Kromah, DL Dashaun Mallory, LB Micah Baskerville, LB Carl Jones Jr., DB Leon Jones, DB Reddy Steward, S Ro Torrence, LS Cameron Lyons and P Corliss Waitman were waived Tuesday, Aug. 27. The team also released FB Khari Blasingame, WR Collin Johnson, TE Stephen Carlson, OT Aviante Collins, DT Byron Cowart and CB Tarvarius Moore. OT Larry Borom (ankle), DE Jake Martin (undisclosed) and WR Dante Pettis (undisclosed) were placed on the Reserve/Injured list with Borom and Martin designated to return later in the season.

Free-agent DT Byron Cowart (Dolphins) signed a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears Monday, March 18. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Houston Texans DT Byron Cowart, C Michael Deiter, WR Adam Humphries, LB Cory Littleton, DE Jake Martin, CB D'Angelo Ross and DE Chase Winovich were released Tuesday, Aug. 29. The team also waived DT Thomas Booker, WR Jalen Camp, CB Cameron Dantzler, DT Khalil Davis, OT Austin Deculus, RB Gerrid Doaks, CB Jacobi Francis, DL Ali Gaye, S Brandon Hill, WR Johnny Johnson III, TE Dalton Keene, C Jimmy Morrissey, OT Jordan Murray, DL Adedayo Odeleye, QB E.J. Perry, RB Larry Rountree, LB Garret Wallow, WR Jared Wayne and P Ty Zentner. In addition, OG Kenyon Green (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list, waived/injured OG Keaton Sutherland (undisclosed) and placed OT Charlie Heck (foot) on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.

Free-agent DT Byron Cowart (Colts) signed a contract with the Houston Texans on Thursday, May 18. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Kansas City Chiefs DT Byron Cowart was released Wednesday, May 10.
