Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles along with a fourth-round draft pick (No. 120) in exchange for a third-round selection (No. 98) and two seventh-round draft choices in 2025 on Friday, March 15.
Huddle Up: The Eagles land a young backup - one who was a first-round pick just two years ago - for Jalen Hurts. Best of all for Philadelphia, Pickett has two years remaining on his rookie contract, so he will serve as cheap depth for the team. Pickett's usefulness in fantasy - whatever little he had entering the offseason - will now be tied entirely to the health of Hurts.

Huddle Up: Pickett apparently did not handle the news of the team acquiring Russell Wilson very well, according to beat writer Gerry Dulac. The trade leaves Pittsburgh with Wilson as the only quarterback on the roster at the moment. Expect the Steelers to spend one of their four top 100 draft choices on the position next month.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett will reportedly be traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in a draft pick swap on Friday, March 15.
Huddle Up: The pick swap will likely be late Day 2 and/or early Day 3 selections. Pickett reportedly made it clear he was ready to move on from the Steelers once they acquired Russell Wilson. This reported trade removes whatever doubt there was that Wilson will be the starter for Pittsburgh in 2024.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett had a "great" meeting with new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith in South Florida and could get another shot at starting, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Sunday, March 3. "I'm told new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith recently spent time with Pickett in South Florida and that the two had a "great" meeting," Fowler said. "The sentiment among many here in Indy -- including some with the team -- was that Pickett could get another chance after a disastrous 2023 season due in part to the offense's overall struggles under then-OC Matt Canada."
Huddle Up: Pickett may get another shot at earning the starting job, but he should be avoided regardless of format.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett will face competition for the starting quarterback next season, but general manager Omar Khan said he has full faith in Pickett.
Huddle Up: The Steelers likely will be adding a veteran quarterback this season, so Pickett is not a lock to start in 2024. Fantasy players probably should avoid all of the Steelers quarterbacks next season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are not interested in signing a veteran quarterback in free agency and there is some internal debate about who should start between QBs Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported on Saturday, Feb. 17.
Huddle Up: Rudolph played well down the stretch of the season but is set to hit free agency in March, so he'll have to be re-signed first. It's hard to imagine the Steelers giving up on Pickett after two seasons, but he hasn't done much to instill confidence that he's the long-term solution. Neither signal-caller is a suggested option in re-draft leagues in 2024 but Pickett should be held in dynasty formats.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett is returning to his starting role, but there will be competition in 2024, according to head coach Mike Tomlin on Thursday, Jan. 18.
Huddle Up: Pickett averaged just 9.2 fantasy points per game before an injury led to his benching. He's a back-end QB2 option if he wins the starting role, but his value is trending in the wrong direction.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 4, and is not on the injury report for Week 18.
Huddle Up: The Steelers have named Mason Rudolph as the starter for Week 18, so Pickett probably will serve as the backup and will not see playing time unless Rudolph suffers an injury. Rudolph has played well over the last two weeks but can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers DB Trenton Thompson (neck), S Minkah Fitzpatrick (knee) and LB Elandon Roberts (pectoral) were limited in practice on Thursday, Jan. 4, and are listed as questionable for Week 18 versus the Baltimore Ravens. OG Isaac Seumalo (shoulder) and LB Myles Jack (personal) did not practice on Thursday but are expected to be available. DT Cameron Heyward (groin) and LB T.J. Watt (rest) were limited in practice all week but no longer appear on the injury report. QB Kenny Pickett (ankle) and RB Najee Harris (knee) practiced in full on Thursday and have also been removed from the injury report. DT Larry Ogunjobi (rest) was not given a practice designation on Thursday but is expected to play.
