Carolina Panthers QB Matt Corral won't have an easy time winning the starting job out of training camp, offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo said on Wednesday, June 1. "It's really early now to even say what he needs to do," McAdoo said. "We need to get to training camp first. Then, obviously, preseason will play a part of it. But it's not gonna be easy for him. It's gonna be a challenge. And I'm not here to make it easy for him. I'm here to make it hard on him. So when he does have a chance to play and get in the games, he's ready to go."
Huddle Up: Not only does Corral have to pass Sam Darnold, but chances are P.J. Walker will be in front of him in the pecking order as well. Corral is a late-round pick in dynasty rookie drafts but isn't a viable fantasy option in re-draft formats.

Carolina Panthers QB Matt Corral says his draft slide made the chip on his shoulder even bigger. ''I mean, I had a chip on my shoulder before. But it just got even bigger,'' Corral admitted. ''It was, for sure, a roller coaster. Bunch of mixed emotions. When I got that phone call, I have truly never been happy and sad at the same time. I've never felt that before.''
Huddle Up: It might not be long before Corral gets his shot at some point in 2022, as expected starter Sam Darnold is as vulnerable as they come. That could change, however, if the Panthers add another veteran to the mix. Corral is a middle- to late-round pick in dynasty rookie drafts and no more than a bench stash for the time being.

Mississippi QB Matt Corral was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the 94th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Corral had some turnover issues in college, but his running ability gives him intriguing upside in fantasy leagues. Perhaps more importantly, he could have a chance to make some noise sooner rather than later with only Sam Darnold standing in his way. Consider him a high-risk, high-reward dynasty asset.

Ole Miss QB Matt Corral has character concerns, an unnamed offensive coordinator told Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. 'He's kind of a mess,' the offensive coordinator said. 'His offense was a true college offense, he pushes the ball, he plays reckless with his body, he won't hold up playing the way he did in college. And there are character concerns. I'm not sure you want him leading your program, his sorts of issues aren't the kind solved by giving a kid millions of dollars.' Another offensive coordinator told Breer that word is Corral is 'a big party guy' but that 'he'll tell you he's gotten himself together.'
