Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams completed 23 of 37 passes for 174 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions against the Houston Texans on Sunday, Sept. 15. Williams, who was sacked seven times, did rush for a game-high 44 yards on five attempts.
Huddle Up: Despite constant praise from the Sunday Night Football crew, Williams endured a second consecutive statistically sub-par outing. Yes, you can see flashes of his talent, both in terms of arm strength and extending the play, but he was blitzed into oblivion, taking some vicious hits and making poor decisions under duress -- he threw two INTs, and a third was wiped away on a holding call away from the play. In two games, Chicago has one offensive TD. So, while there should be no thought given to cutting Williams from your roster, the rookie doesn't belong in your starting lineup at this stage, either.

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams said he hopes to receive some playing time during the Hall of Fame game Thursday, Aug. 1. Head coach Matt Eberflus has not said if Williams will play in the game.
Huddle Up: Williams is on track to be the starting quarterback for the Bears but does need some work during the preseason to prepare for the season. He probably should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback at this point but could become a No. 1 quarterback during the season.

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams could see 45 to 65 snaps during the preseason, but the team has not decided on a final plan for his preseason play, according to head coach Matt Eberflus.
Huddle Up: The Bears likely will be cautious with Williams, but he does need to play so he can be more comfortable in the offense. He probably can be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback at this time but could become a weekly starting option during the season.

Chicago Bears first-round draft choice QB Caleb Williams (Southern California) reportedly agreed to terms on a four-year contract worth $39.49 million - including a $25.5 million signing bonus - on Tuesday, July 16. The deal includes a fifth-year team option.
Huddle Up: Williams enters the league with as much fanfare as any quarterback in recent memory and perhaps the best supporting cast of any No. 1 overall pick at his position in league history. It will be interesting to see how much new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron utilizes him as a rusher after he ran for 966 yards and 27 touchdowns during his three-year college career, as that variable will loom large in him either being a low-end QB1 or an elite fantasy option down the road. As a passer, his ability to buy time in the pocket and improvise is already at a high level. That bodes extremely well for him with the likes of Keenan Allen, D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze set to catch his passes.
