Carolina Panthers WR D.J. Moore had his fifth-year contract option picked up in April, but a long-term deal with the team isn't expected this offseason, according to Alaina Getzenberg of the Charlotte Observer.
Huddle Up: Moore has been consistent to a "T" with exactly 1,215 yards from scrimmage and four TDs in each of the last two seasons. Enter yet another QB in Sam Darnold, but expect the same WR2 fantasy production from Moore.

Notre Dame TE Tommy Tremble was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the 83rd overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Tremble has the athleticism to be a matchup problem for defenses, and the path to the top of Carolina's tight end rotation doesn't have a lot of resistance. Stash him in dynasty formats.

Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold had his fifth-year option exercised Friday, April 30.
Huddle Up: Darnold will be a QB2 in fantasy, but he'll have some upside to sneak into the QB1 range with the weapons around him.

Carolina Panthers WR D.J. Moore's fifth-year option will be exercised Thursday, April 29.
Huddle Up: Moore has been fantastic the last two years with a revolving door at quarterback. Sam Darnold may or may not improve upon that, but Moore is good for at least 1,000 yards. He has only had four touchdowns in each of the last two years, and he has the potential to double that with some consistency under center. He's a great WR2 with WR1 potential.

Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold has a fifth-year option in his contract, but general manager Scott Fitterer said the team will wait until after the 2021 NFL Draft to decide if they will exercise the option.
Huddle Up: The Panthers traded for Darnold this offseason, so they probably will exercise the option. Darnold will have solid receivers to work with next season but likely will be a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Carolina Panthers QB Sam Darnold will have his fifth-year option exercised this offseason, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Darnold will have to learn a new offensive scheme but should have better playmakers to work with in Carolina. He probably will be a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold was traded to the Carolina Panthers Monday, April 5, in exchange for a 2021 sixth-round draft choice, a 2022 second-round draft choice and a 2022 fourth-round draft choice.
Huddle Up: The Jets likely will be selecting a quarterback with the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and probably will go with the rookie as their starter. The quarterback will be a popular option in keeper leagues but would only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in standard leagues.

New York Jets WR Corey Davis signed with the team in free agency last week with the understanding that QB Sam Darnold will remain the starting quarterback in 2021, according to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano.
Huddle Up: Davis' opinion obviously matters less than what the coaching staff and front office think, but the takeaway here is that the Jets gave him little reason to believe they would be going in another direction at quarterback when the two sides were discussing his deal. Although Darnold has been in the league three years already, the 2021 season may be his first real opportunity to play with a legitimate supporting cast. For fantasy purposes, however, he's best viewed as a mid-range QB2.

Carolina Panthers WR David Moore will compete for the No. 3 receiver job behind WRs D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson during training camp.
Huddle Up: Moore posted six touchdowns last season and should have a decent role with the Panthers. He could be a late round option in fantasy leagues as a depth receiver.

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey has agreed to restructure his contract in order for the team to create salary cap space, according to head coach Matt Rhule.
Huddle Up: McCaffrey missed most of the 2020 season because of injury but should be ready for next season. He is one of the most valuable fantasy players when healthy and will be a candidate for the No. 1 overall pick in fantasy leagues.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold's future with the team is uncertain because general manager Joe Douglas said the team would listen to trade interest from other teams.
Huddle Up: The Jets have the second overall pick in the NFL Draft, so they may consider trading Darnold and selecting a quarterback. Darnold is still young and could find success with another team. He would be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback next season if he starts for a team.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold has drawn real trade interest, but the team wants to fully evaluate all the quarterbacks in the NFL Draft before making a decision.
Huddle Up: Darnold could be a high-upside QB2 in fantasy if he lands in another situation. If he stays, though, he'll be a meager midrate QB2.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold can likely be acquired for a second-round pick and a mid-to-late-round pick, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Darnold could thrive in another setting. Keep tabs on him this offseason as a potential upside QB2.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold may receive trade interest from the Washington Football Team if the Jets decide to make him available this offseason.
Huddle Up: Washington used Alex Smith and Kyle Allen at quarterback this offseason but may want a long-term option at the position. Darnold has played well at times since joining the NFL and may need a change of scenery. Darnold likely will be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback no matter where he plays in 2021.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold has been a trade target for other teams this offseason, but the Jets have not decided on Darnold's future with the team at this point, according to sources.
Huddle Up: The Jets have the second overall pick in the NFL Draft, so they could look to take a quarterback if they believe Darnold is not the answer. Darnold has played well at times since being drafted but is coming off a disappointing 2020 season. He probably can be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback no matter where he plays next season. The Jets have the second overall pick in the NFL Draft, so they could look to take a quarterback if they believe Darnold is not the answer. New York Jets QB Sam Darnold's status with the team is uncertain, but head coach Robert Saleh believes Darnold has some untapped potential after watching tape on him.
Huddle Up: The Jets have the second overall pick and could select a quarterback depending on how they feel about Darnold. Fantasy players should monitor the situation because there is a chance that Darnold will be the starter for the Jets in 2021. He would be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he keeps his job.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold is likely to be the team's starting quarterback next season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, who said he would be 'surprised' if Darnold was not the team's Week 1 starter.
Huddle Up: There was already some buzz about Darnold returning prior to the hiring of Robert Saleh and Mike LaFleur, but in the aftermath of that it sounds even more likely that Darnold is back as LaFleur is expected to implement a Shanahan-style offense that appears to be a fit for Darnold's skill set. It's a situation to watch in the coming months, but if Darnold remains in NYC he's someone to watch in the preseason.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold is viewed internally as 'good enough to build around,' in the opinion of ESPN's Todd McShay, who said that GM Joe Douglas is unlikely to draft a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft.
Huddle Up: McShay indicated that Douglas is likely to try and trade down if he can't get Trevor Lawrence, who is expected to be selected first overall by Jacksonville, and build around Darnold -- the USC product remains under team control for the next two seasons, though his cap figure in 2022 would be considerable. Given better weapons, Darnold could hold some late-round potential as a QB2.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (shoulder) said he will not need to undergo surgery on his shoulder this offseason but does need time for the shoulder to heal.
Huddle Up: Darnold's future with the Jets is uncertain at this point, so fantasy players can monitor his status. He should only be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback next season if he is a starting quarterback for a team.

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (thigh) has been declared inactive for the Week 17 game.
Huddle Up: Rodney Smith and Trenton Cannon likely will share playing time against the New Orleans Saints. Smith likely has more fantasy value at this point and can be a flex option in leagues.

Carolina Panthers WR Robby Anderson (groin) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 1, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.
Huddle Up: Anderson is on a bit of a cold streak over the last few weeks but ranks in the top ten in the NFL in receptions and in the top 15 in receiving yards. He should be a focal point in the passing game this week and can be a No. 2 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (thigh) did not participate in practice Friday, Jan. 1, and is listed as doubtful for Week 17.
Huddle Up: The Panthers are expected to be without their top two running backs, so Rodney Smith and Trenton Cannon will receive the playing time at the position. Smith has received a handful of carries over the last few weeks and may have more fantasy value. He could be a flex option in some deeper fantasy leagues.

Carolina Panthers WR Robby Anderson (groin) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 31.
Huddle Up: Anderson should receive his normal workload this week and should see a solid amount of targets. He can be considered at least a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Carolina Panthers WR Robby Anderson (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Anderson will be able to play in Week 17. He has been a reliable option for fantasy players this season and should be a starting option in all leagues if he is active for the game.

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (thigh) will not be available for the Week 17 game, according to head coach Matt Rhule.
Huddle Up: Mike Davis is also expected to miss the game, so Rodney Smith and Trenton Cannon are candidate to receive carries in the Week 17 game. Fantasy players should monitor the situation because the starter will have fantasy value.

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (thigh) is 'probably a no' in terms of his availability in Week 17 against the New Orleans Saints, according to head coach Matt Rhule.
Huddle Up: It's a predictable yet sad probable ending for the consensus No. 1 overall pick in fantasy this summer, who will finish 2020 having only played three games due to ankle, shoulder and leg injuries. Despite how this year unfolded, he's likely to hold a similar ranking in most drafts next summer. Mike Davis and Rodney Smith will once again handle the majority of workload versus the Saints, although only Davis is playable in most leagues as a middling RB2 with a tough matchup.

Carolina Panthers WR D.J. Moore posted five receptions for 37 yards on 10 targets in Week 16 against the Washington Football Team.
Huddle Up: Moore is in the 1,000-yard receiving club along the Robby Anderson, the first Carolina wide receivers with 1,000 yards together in a single season since Patrick Jeffers and Muhsin Muhammad did it in 1999. The Panthers finish up in Week 17 with a visit from the Saints.

Carolina Panthers WR Robby Anderson registered seven receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in Week 16 against the Washington Football Team.
Huddle Up: Anderson joined DJ Moore in the 1,000-yard receiving club, joining Muhsin Muhammad and Patrick Jeffers (1999) as the first wide receiver duo to eclipse the mark in the same season for the Panthers.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold completed 16-of-32 passes for 175 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 16 agaisnt the Cleveland Browns and he added seven runs for 20 yards.
Huddle Up: Darnold was mistake-free in this one, and he really jelled nicely with Jamison Crowder. The Jets have won two in a row, so they're out of the mix for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. That's important, as Clemson's Trevor Lawrence was believed to be the consensus top pick. Darnold might still have a future with Gang Green because of this two-game win streak.
