Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones told the media at the NFL's Annual League Meeting on Tuesday, March 31, that they have "long-term plans" for WR George Pickens.

Dallas Cowboys franchise free-agent WR George Pickens' participation in offseason workouts is uncertain at this point, according to head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
Huddle Up: There is a good chance that Pickens sits out while he waits for a long-term contract, so fantasy players should not expect him to take part in offseason workouts. He is a big part of the Cowboys and will be a weekly starting option in all leagues when he plays.

Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens will receive the franchise tag Friday, Feb. 27.
Huddle Up: Pickens was the WR5 in PPR leagues after a 93-1429-9 monsterous campaign. He'll continue to be a mid-to-low WR1 option in fantasy as he still eyes a long-term deal.

Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens will reportedly have his franchise tag finalized this week, according to the Cowboys' director of player personnel and co-owner Stephen Jones.
Huddle Up: Pickens had a monster 2025 season, where he was a top-five fantasy wide receiver and averaged 17.2 fantasy points per game. As one half of a wide receiver tandem including CeeDee Lamb, Pickens was expected to receive a franchise tag or hit free agency, where he would see a robust market for his services. Now that he's expected to stay a Cowboy for at least this upcoming season, Pickens should be considered a low-end WR1 for fantasy purposes. He may not put up career-highs in all receiving statistics like Pickens did last season, but he has a stable floor of production plus an immense ceiling in a high-flying Dallas offense with Dak Prescott leading the charge.

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent WR George Pickens is expected to receive the franchise tag this offseason, but a sign-and-trade is still a possible option for Pickens, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo.
Huddle Up: Pickens was one of the top receivers in the NFL and should see a significant raise next season no matter where he plays in 2026. Fantasy players can monitor the situation this offseason, but Pickens will be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens is expected to have the franchise tag placed on him, league sources said Saturday, Feb. 7. The projected cost of the one-year, fully guaranteed franchise tag is estimated to be around $28 million. The team can apply the franchise tag to Pickens anytime between Feb. 17 and March 3.
Huddle Up: Pickens racked up 90 receptions for 1,409 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, all career highs for the receiver. He is scheduled to be one of 15 unrestricted free agents for the organization, and the team is hopeful of locking him up long term. As a fantasy option, he stepped up as a bona fide WR1 in most leagues, especially when CeeDee Lamb was injured. Pickens should be drafted as a low-end WR1 or top WR2 in most fantasy leagues in 2026.

Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens and owner Jerry Jones have been discussing a contract extension, according to Jones, and Jones said he is "looking forward to getting things worked out" with Pickens.
Huddle Up: Pickens excelled in his first season in Dallas, and while the Cowboys would like to work out a long-term deal, there is a chance that Pickens could play on the franchise tag next season. As long as Pickens is back in Dallas in 2026, he should be a WR2 with WR1 upside.

Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent WR George Pickens said he would like to return to the Cowboys next season but believes his value has went up after his 2025 season.
Huddle Up: The Cowboys will likely try to sign Pickens to a long-term contract before the start of free agency, but he will be a strong candidate to receive the franchise tag if a deal is not reached in time. He will be a starter no matter where he plays and can be at least a No. 2 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens, who is set to become a free agent, is expected to receive the franchise tag, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, but the belief is that Pickens will be seeking a "long-term deal." If the Cowboys don't sign him to a long-term contract, some believe Pickens will stay away from the team "for a large portion of the offseason or even training camp." Pickens can further apply pressure by refusing to sign the franchise tag.
Huddle Up: Pickens is coming off a career year, and if he's back in Dallas his fantasy value should remain high. A contract dispute would certainly muddy the waters, though, so we'll see how it plays out, especially with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb already earning top-of-the-market contracts.

Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent WR George Pickens is believed to be a likely candidate for the franchise tag this offseason, according to ESPN.com's Dan Graziano.
Huddle Up: Pickens is coming off a tremendous 2025 season, so the Cowboys will likely try to keep him either with a new contract or the franchise tag. He will be at least a No. 2 receiver in fantasy leagues if he remains with the Cowboys.
