Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (chest) will not go on the Reserve/Injured list, and his chest injury isn't considered a long-term issue.
Huddle Up: It sounds like he just may miss the short week and could be back next week. There is optimism De'Von Achane (ankle) plays in Week 2, and he'd be an RB1 option if he goes. Otherwise, Jeff Wilson Jr. and Jaylen Wright would be flex candidates.

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (chest) and WR Malik Washington (quadriceps) did not practice on Wednesday, Sept. 11, and have been ruled out for Week 2. In addition, RB De'Von Achane (ankle) and DB Elijah Campbell (Achilles) were limited and are questionable, LB Jaelan Phillips (Achilles) was limited but carries no designation, and OT Liam Eichenberg (shoulder) and CB Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.

Huddle Up: Mostert and Achane each missed time last season, which likely contributed a bit to Miami's decision to move up in the draft to select Jaylen Wright this spring. While Wright was inactive in the opener, it was likely only because teams rarely have four running backs active on game day and Jeff Wilson brings value on special teams. If Mostert and Achane cannot play on Thursday against the Buffalo Bills, there is a distinct possibility Wright finishes as a top-15 back and Wilson is worth a flex play.

Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to check on Mostert's status in a few days to see if he will be able to play this week. He was limited to only 19 yards on eight touches in the first game and can be benched if players have better options available.

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert rushed six times for only nine yards in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while totaling two receptions for only 10 yards on his three targets.
Huddle Up: Mostert led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns, while tying for the NFL lead with 21 total scores, but that's last season. He is expected to share the load with De'Von Achane, and the latter was much more productive for fantasy managers, especially in the pass game. Even Jeff Wilson Jr. had a handful of touches, actually leading the team in rushing yards. It's not what Mostert's fantasy managers wanted to see. He remains a low-end RB2 or flex play in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills, but expect him to share the wealth.

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert "pretty much" leads the running back group, according to head coach Mike McDaniel.
Huddle Up: The explosiveness that De'Von Achane showcased as a rookie has him in the RB1 conversation, but Mostert is coming off a year when he topped 1,000 yards and rushed for a league-high 18 touchdowns. If McDaniel continues to lean on Mostert in the red zone, but he could end up being a better value than Achane.

Huddle Up: Mostert probably will split a majority of the work at running back with DeVon Achane this upcoming season like they did in 2023. Mostert can be a flex option or a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert agreed to a restructured contract on Friday, March 29, that will also keep him with the team through the end of the 2025 season. Per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the deal is worth up to $9.1 million over two years - including $3.71 million guaranteed.
Huddle Up: Although Mostert is about to turn 32 years old (April 9), he has only topped 200 touches in a season twice and is coming off a career year. Mostert makes for an interesting case study in that he is technically well past the 30-year-old age cliff for a running back, but he theoretically has plenty of tread left on his tires with only 766 career offensive touches to his name. With De'Von Achane likely to enjoy better health in 2024, Mostert should probably be considered more of a higher-risk, low-end RB1 in fantasy.
