Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry wasn't brought in to get 30 carries per game, head coach John Harbaugh said on Monday, Sept. 9. "We didn't bring Derrick in here to be the guy that gets the ball 30 times a game," Harbaugh said. "He's done that before. That's really not the plan. The plan is Derrick, Lamar, Mark (Andrews), Isaiah (Likely), Zay (Flowers), Bate (Rashod Bateman) and Nelly (Nelson Agholor). That's kind of the plan in this offense going forward."
Huddle Up: Henry wasn't necessarily expected to get the kinds of massive workloads he got in Tennessee, if for no other reason than Lamar Jackson takes a lot of carries himself, as he did in Week 1. The biggest concern for Henry was his lack of involvement on passing downs, which makes him reliant on game script to get a big workload. Henry remains a borderline RB1, but that will change if he proves to be touchdown-dependent.

Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry tallied 13 carries for 46 yards (3.5 YPC) and a touchdown versus the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, Sept. 5. Henry was targeted twice in the passing game but did not register a reception.

Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry will not play in any of the preseason games, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Henry does not need to play in the preseason and will be ready for a big workload when the season starts. He continues to be a top running back in the NFL and will be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry is attempting to become just the fourth running back in the past decade to rush for 1,000 yards in the NFL at the age of 30 or older, joining retired RBs Adrian Peterson and Frank Gore, and current Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert.
Huddle Up: The Ravens certainly paid Henry like they expect him to contribute that kind of yardage, and he rushed for 1,167 yards last season in a lesser offense. Even at age 30 and with a lot of mileage, Henry remains a solid RB2 with top-10 upside.

Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry is viewed as a "closer" by offensive coordinator Todd Monken, who said that if Henry "carries it 300 times" in 2024, then the team would be "having a helluva year." He also noted the importance of keeping Henry healthy over the course of the season.
Huddle Up: At 30 years of age and with 2,000-plus carries on his odometer, Henry is a bit of a risk, no matter what role Monken envisions for the veteran. He's a nonfactor in the passing game, and with the Ravens hoping to play into late January at least, they might choose to save some of Henry's bullets for a postseason run. Still, he's worthy of consideration as a possible high-end RB2.

Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said there is a "strong chance" that the team will select a running back in the 2024 NFL Draft. He believes a lot of backs will be chosen between the third and fifth rounds and said that the Ravens have looked at a lot of the players projected to be drafted during those rounds. RBs Derrick Henry, Justice Hill and Keaton Mitchell are currently the top three players on Baltimore's depth chart at the position.

RB Derrick Henry said that the Dallas Cowboys never reached out to him during free agency this offseason before he signed with the Baltimore Ravens, according to an interview he did with Adam Schein on the "Schein on Sports" show on SiriusXM's Mad Dog Radio. Henry makes his offseason home in Dallas and the Cowboys had been rumored to have interest in acquiring him from the Tennessee Titans before the 2023 NFL trade deadline.

Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Derrick Henry (Titans) officially agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens Wednesday, March 13. Financial terms were not disclosed, but an earlier report stated the deal is worth $16 million.

Impending free-agent RB Derrick Henry (Titans) reportedly agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth $16 million - including $9 million guaranteed in the first year - with the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, March 12. The deal reportedly involves incentives that could allow Henry to earn a maximum of $20 million.
Huddle Up: The Ravens are taking a slight risk by rolling the dice on a 30-year-old back, but Henry is not your typical running back in any way, shape or form. In Baltimore, Henry joins one of the few offenses in the league that will not hesitate to run the ball 30-plus times per game. While it is likely someone like Keaton Mitchell (knee) will steal passing-down work from him, Henry will be a strong candidate to push for 300-plus touches yet again in 2024 should his body hold up. The former Tennessee Titan should remain a solid RB1 option in fantasy as a player capable of exceeding 1,500 total yards and 10 touchdowns.

Impending free-agent RB Derrick Henry (Titans) is receiving interest from Baltimore Ravens, and Henry is believed to have interest in joining the Ravens, according to a source.
Huddle Up: The Ravens may be losing their top two running backs from this season in free agency, so Henry is a logical target for the team. He will receive most of the work at running back if he signs with Baltimore and can be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.
