Free-agent RB J.D. McKissic, who initially agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth $7 million on Tuesday, March 15, will instead sign a similar contract to return to the Washington Commanders.
Huddle Up: This news comes as a blow to Antonio Gibson's dynasty managers. McKissic has emerged as a reliable weapon in the passing game since arriving in the nation's capital, which has allowed him to carve out some decent value while also limiting Gibson's upside. The 28-year-old was less involved as a receiver in 2021 than he was in 2020 as Gibson began to take on more work, but the team values his contributions enough in that area for fantasy managers to view him as a RB4/5 with some handcuff appeal.

Free-agent RB J.D. McKissic (Commanders) agreed to a two-year, $7 million deal with the Buffalo Bills Tuesday, March 15.
Huddle Up: McKissic is a good receiver, evidenced by his 43-397-2 line through the air last year. He could push or ultimately replace Devin Singletary in the backfield. Watch this situation as McKissic is a RB3 for now in PPR.

Washington Football Team RB J.D. McKissic (neck) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 21, and will miss at least three games.
Huddle Up: A concussion cost him the past few games, and McKissic cleared the protocol only to develop a neck injury serious enough to land him on IR. His absence should mean more work for RB Antonio Gibson, who has been a bell cow over the last few weeks, but rookie RB Jaret Patterson may see a few more looks down the stretch.

Washington Football Team RB J.D. McKissic (neck) did not participate in practice Monday, Dec. 20, and has been ruled out for Week 15. Washington did not hold a practice Monday, so the practice status is an estimation.
Huddle Up: There is no timetable for McKissic, so he may miss more time. Antonio Gibson should receive most of the touches at running back against the Philadelphia Eagles and can be a No. 2 running back in fantasy leagues.

Washington Football Team RB J.D. McKissic (neck) has cleared the league's concussion protocol, according to a report Saturday, Dec. 18, but remained out of practice Saturday due to a neck injury.
Huddle Up: McKissic, who has not played since Week 12, has a few extra days to recover with Washington's Week 15 game moved to Tuesday, but his status remains very much in doubt with him unable to get on the practice field.
