Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (knee, shin) did not practice Friday, Jan. 6, and has been ruled out for Week 18 versus the San Francisco 49ers.
Huddle Up: It is just as well for the 27-year-old, who handled at least 16 touches in each of his last seven games and at least 19 touches in six of them. Even though he is technically injured at the moment, he will enter the offseason healthy, which is great news for someone with his injury history. There is much that needs to be figured out in Arizona this spring, but Conner will have a strong case to be considered a low-end RB1 next season if the Cardinals don't add much in the way of competition at his position. Corey Clement and Keaontay Ingram will fill in this weekend. Neither one is worth playing against the 49ers in most leagues.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (knee, shin) did not participate in practice Thursday, Jan. 5.
Huddle Up: Conner appears to be in danger of missing the Week 18 game, so fantasy players should keep an eye on his situation. He is a starting option in all leagues when healthy, but players will need a backup plan ready.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (knee, shin) was spotted at practice Thursday, Jan. 5.
Huddle Up: Conner left the team's Week 17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons early and did not practice Wednesday, so the mere fact he was back on the field today suggests he will be able to play in Week 18. His biggest obstacle in the season finale figures to be the competition, as the San Francisco 49ers have been the stingiest defense for fantasy running backs. Volume figures to allow Conner to remain a fantasy starter this week, but he'll likely need to score a touchdown in order to be a viable RB2.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (knee, shin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Jan. 4.
Huddle Up: Conner was injured in the last game and probably will be questionable at best for the Week 18 game. He is a weekly starting option when healthy, but fantasy players need other options ready in case he sits out.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (shin) will be evaluated during the week, and his status for Week 18 is uncertain at this point.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players should monitor the situation to see if Conner will be able to play in Week 18. He is a weekly starting option when healthy, but players should have a backup plan ready.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (shin) posted 16 carries for 79 yards in Week 17 against the Atlanta Falcons, while adding three receptions for 31 yards on his three targets. He did not play in the fourth quarter after suffering a shin injury.
Huddle Up: It's uncertain if Conner will be able to play in Week 18, or if he will be rested, especially with the Cardinals sitting at 4-12 and well out of the postseason mix. Corey Clement was the beneficiary of more run in Conner's absence.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (shin) suffered a shin injury during the Week 17 game and is considered questionable to return.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to keep an eye on the situation to see if Conner will be able to play in the regular season finale. He is a starting option in all leagues when healthy.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (illness) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 30, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.
Huddle Up: Conner should be a big part of the offense this week with the Cardinals down to their third quarterback. He should be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Arizona Cardinals DE Zach Allen (hand) and CB Antonio Hamilton (hip) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 17 versus the Atlanta Falcons. QB Colt McCoy (concussion) did not practice Friday, Dec. 30, and has also been ruled out. WR DeAndre Hopkins (knee) and CB Marco Wilson (neck) did not practice Friday and are listed as questionable. OT Kelvin Beachum (knee, ankle) and LB Tanner Vallejo (knee) were limited in practice Friday and are also listed as questionable. RB James Conner (illness), WR A.J. Green (illness), OG Max Garcia (shoulder), C Billy Price (knee), DB Charles Washington (chest) and CB Josh Jackson (hamstring) practiced in full Friday and have been removed from the injury report.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (illness) returned to practice Friday, Dec. 30.
Huddle Up: Conner missed the first two days of the week due to illness, but even a limited practice Friday puts him on track to play in Week 17 against the Atlanta Falcons. The 27-year-old has logged nearly every offensive snap for several weeks, handling at least 16 touches in six straight games and at least 19 touches in five of those outings. Even in an Arizona offense that has struggled recently, another week with that kind of usage would make Conner an obvious start in fantasy.
