Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) has not been ruled out as a possibility for the Vikings at some point this offseason, but general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said the team is very happy with the quarterbacks currently on the roster. Adofo-Mensah said Rodgers and head coach Kevin O'Connell have had several conversations this offseason.
Huddle Up: The Pittsburgh Steelers seem like the most likely option for Rodgers, but the Vikings could be an option for him if he is willing to wait longer to make a decision. He probably would open the season as the starter if he joined the Vikings, but J.J. McCarthy could take over the job at any point. Rodgers will be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback no matter where he plays.

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) will likely play with the Pittsburgh Steelers if he decides to play in 2025, in the opinion of NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
Huddle Up: Rodgers is a QB2 in fantasy and will really have to find a way to rekindle some mobility in the pocket two years from a torn Achilles in order to be worthwhile in drafts.

The New York Giants' signing of QB Jameis Winston earlier this week would not necessarily preclude them from signing another free-agent quarterback, such as QB Russell Wilson (Steelers) or QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets), according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Huddle Up: Winston is likely to open the 2025 season as the Giants' starter, even if the team drafts a quarterback, unless they also sign Wilson or Rodgers. If he plays, Winston should be viewed as a QB2 option for fantasy leagues.

Free-agent QB Russell Wilson (Steelers) appears to be the Cleveland Browns' top choice amongst available quarterbacks, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, although there is still a chance that he could return to the Pittsburgh Steelers if free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) decides not to sign there. As a contingency plan, the Browns have also maintained interest in free-agent QB Carson Wentz (Eagles).
Huddle Up: Regardless of where Wilson winds up for the 2025 season, he should only be viewed as a QB2 option for fantasy purposes.

Updating a previous report, free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) met with several key figures with the Pittsburgh Steelers - including offensive coordinator Arthur Smith - on Friday, March 21, but left the facility without a deal.
Huddle Up: Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette suggested it was very possible that Rodgers would not agree to anything today. With that said, he also hinted that a deal could be struck relatively soon. Rodgers has typically been very deliberate with his decision-making in recent years, but the Steelers seem like a much better option at this point than the New York Giants, who is reportedly the only other team in the mix for his services right now. Stay tuned.

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) visited the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to sources Friday, March 21.
Huddle Up: Rodgers has been taking his time mulling over his decision, but it appears the Steelers may have the upper hand. With a solid group of weapons including DK Metcalf, George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth, Rodgers still has some QB2 value if Pittsburgh is where he ends up.

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) continues to mull over his NFL future, but one league source told NFL Insider Josina Anderson on Tuesday, March 18, that the Pittsburgh Steelers feel like they are "getting closer" on their quarterback situation. Per that league source, the Steelers' optimism pertained to Rodgers.
Huddle Up: Rodgers has no reason to rush his decision - he likely has until next month's NFL Draft before any new competition enters the fray - but the Steelers remain the most logical landing spot for him. Not only should he receive decent blocking, but Pittsburgh's supporting cast of DK Metcalf, George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth should also appeal to him. The 41-year-old Rodgers may not be what he once was, but he should be able to post at least one more solid fantasy QB2 season with the weapons he would have with him with the Steelers.

Free-agent QB Russell Wilson (Steelers) is reportedly ready to sign a new contract with an NFL team but likely won't do so until after free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) has signed a deal first, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Huddle Up: At this point, it appears as though Rodgers will sign with either the New York Giants or the Pittsburgh Steelers, with Wilson believed to be the top option for whichever team doesn't wind up with Rodgers. Regardless of where either player lands next season, they should both be viewed as QB2 options in fantasy leagues.

New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers will officially be released following the start of the new league year Wednesday, March 12. Rodgers will be designated as a post-June 1 release, which means the team will carry his $21 million cap hit until June 1. It will then drop to $14 million while New York will absorb a $35 million dead cap hit in 2026.
Huddle Up: Rodgers has a handful of suitors on the open market such as the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants. Wherever he lands, it's difficult to see him providing more than QB2 value for fantasy purposes.

New York Jets impending free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers has been talking with the Pittsburgh Steelers for a few days, and the two sides could reach an agreement as early as Tuesday, March 11, according to a source. The New York Giants still have a chance to sign Rodgers.
Huddle Up: It seems like Rodgers is the leading candidate for the Steelers, but the two sides have to reach an agreement. He would have a very good wide receiver duo to work with if he signs with the Steelers but would be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in leagues.
