San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (oblique, ribs) is considered day-to-day because of injuries to his oblique and ribs, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Samuel will be reevaluated after the Week 9 bye.
Huddle Up: Samuel will receive an extra week to rest his injuries, so fantasy players will need to check on his practice participation next week. He is one of the main options in the passing game when healthy and is a weekly fantasy option.

San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (rib) caught four of his seven targets for 71 yards and ran four times for 15 yards in Week 8 versus the Dallas Cowboys.
Huddle Up: Samuel was spotted in the blue medical tent in the second half and having a trainer rub some kind of pain reliever on his ribs late in the game. Samuel was highly involved before that, busting loose for a 47-yard reception on the team's first drive and having a 66-yard touchdown catch wiped away by penalty. With Brandon Aiyuk (knee) not in the picture anymore, it would not be surprising if this is the worst fantasy effort Samuel has for the rest of the season. He should be considered a strong WR2 option with WR1 upside after the team returns from its Week 9 bye against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (wrist, illness) is expected to play in Week 8's game against the Dallas Cowboys, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Samuel was listed as questionable on the injury report after logging two limited practice sessions during the week. With WRs Jauan Jennings and Brandon Aiyuk both sidelined, Samuel would be worthy of consideration for fantasy lineups as a WR2 option if cleared to play. If he is ruled out, WR Ricky Pearsall should be viewed as a flex option or better in fantasy leagues.

San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (wrist, illness) was a limited participant in practice once again on Friday, Oct. 25, and is questionable for Week 8.
Huddle Up: Samuel recovered quickly from his illness but is also dealing with a wrist issue. The Niners are extremely short at wide receiver with Jauan Jennings and Brandon Aiyuk both out, so Samuel, who is a WR2 play if he suits up, is likely to try to give it a go. Rookie Ricky Pearsall is already in the flex conversation with Jennings and Aiyuk sidelined, and he'd be an even more attractive play if Samuel sits.

San Francisco 49ers DT Kevin Givens (groin), WR Jauan Jennings (hip) and PK Jake Moody (ankle) did not take part in practice on Friday, Oct. 25, and were ruled out for Week 8. Also, TE George Kittle (foot), CB Deommodore Lenoir (illness), S George Odum (knee) and WR Deebo Samuel (illness, wrist) were limited and are questionable and OT Trent Williams (rest), DE Nick Bosa (elbow), WR Chris Conley (ankle) and RB Jordan Mason (shoulder) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.

San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (illness, wrist) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 24.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Samuel will be able to play in the Week 8 game. He will be the main receiver for the rest of the season with Brandon Aiyuk out and should be a starting option in all leagues if active.

San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (illness, wrist) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 23.
Huddle Up: Samuel was recently released from the hospital, so his status for Week 8 is uncertain at this point. He is a weekly starting option when healthy, but fantasy players will need other options available in case he is not available.

San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (illness) was released from the hospital, according to sources Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Huddle Up: Managers should continue monitoring this situation. It's unclear when Samuel will return, but the 49ers are likely to turn to Jauan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall and Jacob Cowing if Samuel misses any time. Jennings can be a fringe WR2 option while Pearsall and Cowing have potential flex value in deeper leagues.

San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (illness) is dealing with a form of pneumonia and is currently in the hospital because he had fluid in his lungs, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. There is no timetable for Samuel's return.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see how long Samuel may be sidelined. Ricky Pearsall and Jacob Cowing appear to be the main healthy receivers for the 49ers, but Jauan Jennings could be available depending on his recovery. Jennings should be a starting option in leagues if he is able to play, while Pearsall and Cowing can be possible flex options.

Updating earlier reports, San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (illness) was ruled out of the team's matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Oct. 20, after just three snaps due to an unspecified illness.
Huddle Up: It's a bitter pill to swallow for fantasy owners, though the injury to Brandon Aiyuk (knee) could thrust Samuel into a more featured role moving forward. While you wouldn't expect an illness to be a multi-week issue, be sure to keep an eye on Samuel's status heading into Week 8 just in case.
