Updating a previous report, New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (knee) told reporters on Wednesday, May 1, that he is "in a good spot" with his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and will be ready for training camp this summer.
Huddle Up: Jones' career in New York has been more down than up, but New York might be giving him his best chance to succeed since becoming a pro after drafting Malik Nabers last week. It could easily be argued that Sterling Shepherd and Evan Engram were previously the two best pass-catchers he has had in five years with the club. As such, the 2024 season may be the first time in his NFL career that the Giants will be able to answer the question of whether Jones is their long-term answer at quarterback.

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (knee) said he has been able to cut on his knee as part of his recovery and is looking to be ready for training camp.
Huddle Up: The Giants did not add a quarterback during the draft, so Jones is on track to be the starting quarterback in 2024. He should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he is cleared to play.

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (knee) has been starting to run on land as part of his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to general manager Joe Schoen.
Huddle Up: Jones is taking steps in his recovery but probably will not do anything until training camp. He appears to be the leading candidate for the starting job but may have to compete with a rookie depending on what the team does in the 2024 NFL Draft. Jones can be avoided in most leagues even if he wins the job.

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (knee) isn't guaranteed to be ready for Week 1 of the 2024 campaign but will "be the guy" upon his return, head coach Brian Daboll said on Saturday, March 23.
Huddle Up: Reports suggest that the Giants are thinking about moving on from Jones, but we won't know how serious that is until we see what New York does in the draft. Jones, who will be backed up by Drew Lock in 2024, offers a ton of upside because of his elite running ability -- as evidence by his 2022 campaign when he finished as QB9 overall -- but he simply can't be trusted to stay healthy. The Duke product is, at best, a late-round flyer in redraft leagues who could pay big dividends if he can finally stay healthy.

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (knee) has begun running on an anti-gravity treadmill, and he hopes to be ready for training camp.
Huddle Up: Jones was a meager QB2 when healthy, and coming off a torn ACL will make him even less desirable in fantasy.

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (knee) is expected to be ready for the start of the 2024 regular season, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Huddle Up: The Giants may consider selecting a quarterback in the NFL Draft, so there is a chance that Jones is not starting next season. Fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation, but Jones would only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he keeps the starting job.

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (knee) is making good progress in his recovery and hopefully will be available for the start of training camp, according to general manager Joe Schoen.
Huddle Up: Jones probably will not do much during the offseason workouts but likely will enter camp as the leading candidate for the starting quarterback job. He struggled this last season and will only be a possible No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (knee) will be the team's starting quarterback when he is healthy, according to general manager Joe Schoen.
Huddle Up: Jones will be a backup in fantasy next season and will probably be an afterthought except in two-QB leagues coming off of knee surgery.
