Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs rushed 13 times for 84 yards in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while going for seven receptions for 22 yards on his seven targets.
Huddle Up: Gibbs went over 100 scrimmage yards, which was nice, and the seven receptions are great news for those in PPR formats. Fantasy managers likely weren't thrilled David Montgomery had the team's rushing touchdown this week, but at least Gibbs had more overall touches. Gibbs remains a solid RB1 most fantasy formats heading into Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs carried 11 times for 40 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams. He also caught four of six targets for 34 yards.
Huddle Up: Gibbs plowed his way into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown in the first half, continuing a trend that started about midway through last season in which he stayed on the field at the goal line on drives he started. The second-year back may not have posted the kind of fantasy line some may have expected in this one, but his fantasy managers should be very encouraged that his usage does not appear to be much different than it was late in 2023. Gibbs should be considered a strong RB1 option in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) told ESPN's Eric Woodyard that he "just had a little (hamstring) tweak" during camp and believes he will be ready to go for Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams.
Huddle Up: It is great news for the Lions and fantasy managers. Gibbs is expected to contribute more often in the passing game than he did as a rookie (52 catches on 71 targets) and steal a few more carries than he did from David Montgomery last year. Gibbs has typically been drafted at the 1-2 turn for most of the offseason and to make a legitimate case to be the overall RB1 in fantasy if he pushes for 275 touches in 2024 (234 last year) - health permitting.

Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) is expected to be available for the Week 1 game, according to head coach Dan Campbell.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players can monitor the situation during practice this week, but it appears like Gibbs should be ready for his normal workload in Week 1. He will be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues this season.

Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) returned to practice Sunday, Aug. 25.
Huddle Up: As long as Gibbs is without limitations, he's a solid RB1 for fantasy.

Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) will not practice again this week, but head coach Dan Campbell told reporters on Tuesday, Aug. 20, that he expects Gibbs to return to practice at some point next week. Campbell also told reporters that Gibbs is "trending the right way" to play in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams. "Our plan is to get him going next week. He's trending the right way, and we're hoping the day after the Pittsburgh (preseason) game, I think we're going to get a lot of guys back, hopefully Sunday, and hopefully they'll get in next week's practice before Rams and then we'll do Rams practice," Campbell said.
Huddle Up: Gibbs should return in time to get at least a full week's worth of practices in before the opener. While Gibbs may lack the volume that most of the other elite backs will get, he makes up for it with efficiency in one of the best offenses in the league. Despite sharing a backfield with David Montgomery, the second-year back is expected to see more of a workload in 2024 after handling 234 touches as a rookie, which should be more than enough to keep him in the second tier of high-end fantasy running backs.

Updating previous reports, Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) should be fine, according to head coach Dan Campbell.
Huddle Up: It doesn't give us much of an outlook for Week 1, but it appears the RB1 should not miss much time in the season - if any.

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury during practice Monday, Aug. 12, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Gibbs may be sidelined for the rest of the preseason so he can recover from his injury, but fantasy players will know more in the next day or two. He will be a starting option in all fantasy leagues this season when healthy, but players may want a backup plan in case he misses any games because of the injury.
