Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce recorded season highs across the board with 10 catches on 12 targets for 90 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Huddle Up: The touchdown was Kelce's first in a regular-season game since right before Thanksgiving last season. While it has been a bumpy ride for his fantasy managers, Kelce has recorded at least seven catches and 70 receiving yards in three of his last four outings. While it may be too much to ask for a repeat of his Week 8 effort, Kelce has a sweet Week 9 matchup against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that has yielded two touchdown catches to a tight end in consecutive weeks.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce caught four of his five targets for 17 yards in a 28-18 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7.
Huddle Up: After a couple of solid outings, Kelce finished with his fourth game of 34 receiving yards or less. He still has occasional TE1 performances, but Kelce has gone from arguably the most reliable option at the position to a week-to-week unknown.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce managed nine receptions for 70 yards on 10 targets in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints. The catch total and targets were both game highs.
Huddle Up: That's more like it. Kelce opened the season with eight catches, 69 yards and 12 targets in the first three games. In the past two games, he has 16 receptions for 159 yards on 19 targets. He is back to TE1 fantasy status, but you'll need to go another way in Week 6 with Kansas City on its bye.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce caught seven of his nine targets for 89 yards in a 17-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4.
Huddle Up: Kelce had eight catches for 69 yards entering Week 4, but he turned in a vintage performance in the win. With Rashee Rice possibly set to miss time after being carted off in the game, Kelce's heavy workload could become the norm going forward.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce had four receptions for 30 yards against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Sept. 22. He was targeted five times.
Huddle Up: Kelce's slow start stretched into its third week with no clear rhyme nor reason. With the Chiefs settling for too many field goals, it seems strange that there hasn't been more of a focus on getting the ball to Kelce, who has been Patrick Mahomes' go-to guy for years. Despite that, the reality is that the tight end position has had precious few contributors thus far, so no serious thought can be given to moving on from the perennial TE1. Keep him in your lineup for Week 4 and just hope he can, well, shake it off.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce hauled in one of his three targets for five yards in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Kelce also added one yard rushing.
Huddle Up: The one-catch effort ended a regular-season streak of Kelce registering at least three catches in every game dating back over six years ago. It is almost inconceivable how little Kelce has been involved through two games (four catches on seven targets for 39 scoreless yards) considering how dominant he was in Kansas City's four playoff games last season (32 catches for 355 yards and three touchdowns). Given how little tight ends around the league are producing, fantasy managers have little choice but to hope Patrick Mahomes will be more diligent in trying to find his (former?) favorite target in the coming weeks.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce caught three of his four targeted passes for 34 yards during the team's Week 1 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce's 10.6 yards per catch in 2023 were a career low, but his 65.6 receiving yards per game and 51 first downs ranked first among tight ends.
Huddle Up: Kelce is no longer the unquestioned No. 1 fantasy option at the position, but he is still one of the steadiest tight performers with arguably the safest floor.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce told reporters on Tuesday, June 11, that he "really cannot put a timeframe on (retirement)" intends to "keep going until the wheels fall off," according to Nate Taylor of The Athletic.
Huddle Up: Kelce also noted that he loves coming to work every single day, so it is possible - albeit unlikely - that the soon-to-be 35-year-old could play past next season. At any rate, Kelce is still playing at a high level and probably locked into 70-plus catches every year as long as Patrick Mahomes stays healthy. Kelce may never repeat his 2022 season, but he is unquestionably an elite TE1 option again this season.

Updating previous reports, Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce's new two-year contract worth $34.25 million will replace his current contract and is not an extension. He will be under contract through the 2025 season.
